capital precision mcr304 vs. wolf gr304?
Comments (4)Which did you decide to go with? My husband and I are actually considering the same two models. With the Capital being more powerful, spacious, and cheaper, I know that we should probably choose that one but the Wolf is beautiful. Online reviews for Wolf are fairly mixed, with the major criticism that baking is uneven. I can't find as many reviews for Capital, but based on price and power alone and the fact that they use that line on Chopped seems that we should go that route but I'm torn....See MoreDoes the black porcelain also chip on the Wolf GR 304?
Comments (4)We have the (slightly) older style Wolf AG range. Our oven floor was replaced a few years ago (excessive "tin canning"--flexing during oven use). It has screws like you describe, so I am guessing it can be replaced if needed. If the porcelain is the same as ours, so far ours seems okay. Burnt on/baked in stuff that sometimes "flakes" off onto the sponge when I clean the oven (I've never been able to clean it off entirely), but it doesn't appear to be any of the porcelain itself flaking off....See MoreWolf R304 or GR304?
Comments (9)I'd also go for the R304 of those two! However, I do think you're putting too much emphasis on the lack of Bluestar service in your area. What's to service? I've had mine two years with no issues, and after all, these ranges are so basic, I can't think of anything on it that I couldn't repair myself or any appliance repair guy for that matter. Just something to think about before you take Bluestar off your list of contenders... Chris Edit: was posting at the same time, if you have decided on the Wolf Enjoy! :) I was this close (holding thumb and forefinger quarter inch apart) to buying an ag Wolf when I discovered Bluestar, you can't go wrong either way. chris This post was edited by ctycdm on Tue, Jan 20, 15 at 20:20...See More30” Gas Range - Wolf VS. Comments (9)@Jeanne Cardwell Thanks for replying. Simmer has not been an issue, yet. But, this is my first gas stove, so have nothing to compare it to. The temperature dial may not be calibrated, but, it is something to work with. I am using a separate in-oven thermometer to get the oven to the temp I want and making a note of the position of the dial. I get the same "bang". I assume it's the cover plate at the bottom of the oven reacting to the heat. Don't know that it can be serviced. Would love to know what you learn if you follow up on it. Hope in the long run you're happy with it....See Morewekick
