Sugarosa sauce??

Does anyone have a recipe for a sugarosa sauce? We found this wonderful Italian restaurant quite by accident after taking Aleksi to a really cute production of Cinderella and I had chicken cannelloni, described as crepes filled with spinach and chicken topped with sugarosa sauce, which were excellent. I would love to try and learn how to make this sauce. I googled "sugarosa sauce" and the top hit was the restaurant we went too. :)

Thanks!

Brenda

I'm sure the reason you can't find a recipe is because the word "sugarosa" is an Anglicized/Americanized (= bastardized) version of "sugo" (or "sugu") and "rosa", combined.

"Sugo rosa" would mean rose (or pink) sauce. A lot of American Italian restaurants started making these "rose" sauces years ago. They're basically a good pureed marinara sauce ("sugo") with cream added.

Joe, thanks for the information, that is very interesting. I am sorry to be so inexprienced, but what kind of cream would I use?

Just ordinary heavy cream, but not the ultra pasteurized stuff.

Here is a link that might be useful: Tomato sauce with cream
