Happy Friday everyone,

I haven't been around lately so hoping that everyone is doing well. I start my big sort of the entire house this weekend. We are supposed to close on our new house the first week of Feb. and that date is coming fast. Goodwill is going to be happy with me by the time we move.

Will be cheering on the Colts and the Saints this weekend as I would love to see the two best teams go to the Super Bowl.

Clinking with my diet Pepsi.

Linda, good luck on that new house. When Elery and I actually move in together, two houses will have to become one house. I'm only hoping our kids can use some of the stuff!

Elery is here now, napping on my couch after working his midnight shift last night. We're taking my Mother for lunch tomorrow, and the farm has my time on Sunday.

There's a pastrami smoking right now and I'm making Ann T's enchiladas for supper tonight, probably sushi tomorrow.

Clink with my Diet Coke.

clink to both of you. OH Annie, I wish I could have some of those enchiladas, and I've had them twice in the past couple of weeks! Yum!

good luck sorting thins Linda. It always feels good to "declutter"...

quiet weekend, I hope. Dealing with more "mom" issues...Scott "tripping" LOL - and Will wanting to have a sleepover here with a good buddy tonight. I think I'll feed them tacos.

We got a new router and his xbox hasn't been working quite right connecting to the internet, so I have wasted LOTS of time today trying to get that straight. sheesh. I do need a drink. :-)

My husband was in michigan this week and that was one of the flights he thought about taking on thursday night. He flies a lot and it just hit close to home. Clarence is not far from where we live. We are a little more out in the country. Big sigh of relief. When the news came on at 10pm they announced at the end of the broadcast that a plane had crashed by the airport, but they didn't know anything yet. By the time the 11pm news came on, it was not until after the weather that their news crews made it to the neighborhood and they announced it was a commercial plane. WIVB broadcast without commercial break until I went to bed at 2am. When my husband called to say he was alright i was so grateful. (wipes tears and sniffles) Fran, Could i have the blanket flower, please? BTW, DS#3 watered my keyboard once, its still a little iffy. We set it in from of the blower on the woodstove for a week. Just FYI those of you sowing in the keys LOL! Thank all of you for the prayers. Families here are esp. close knit and things like this are difficult for anyone. Praying for your FIL, too Nichol. That DHCP WARNING message is normal and is from the cable modem. I get it all the time as well. It's really something that cable modem technicians use. You really shouldn't be concerned with anything in the Cable modem logs.

I've never posted on a TGIF thread before but I played hookie today so I could have a nice 4 day weekend. My weekend started last night. I bought that 5 minute artisan bread book and made a batch of the dough for today. I have only made bread in a bread machine prior to this. It mixed up easily in the mixer. Today I pulled it out and touched dough for the first time ever. It was a sticky mess. LOL I couldn't get it round so I plopped it on the peel. Then I decided it was way too flat so I picked it up and kept adding flour trying to get it round. What an amusing experience. I had flour all over my slippers and the dog by the time I was done. It wound up being the height off a ciabatta in the middle. We ate it for lunch even though it looked a little silly. The good news is I have a bowl full of dough in the fridge to keep trying. Any tips? Today must be a day of firsts. I have never had chili before because I am not a big fan of beans and I have only recently started liking spicy foods. I just made the RR chicken chorizo chili and it is simmering away. I can't wait to taste it. Clinking with an amaretto on the rocks from sunny S Florida. I may have to hit the hot tub ater dinner. Don't worry, I will be thinking of you freezing people the whole time. :-> I remember what zero felt like. Brrrr!!!

Happy Friday!

How exciting that you're getting a new house, Linda! I've been in mine for seven months now, and I'm still unpacking. We had a huge yard sale before our move and made a lot more money than I expected. I'm still holding on to some really old clothes, some of which may qualify as antiques by now, but I've got to declutter my bedroom ASAP, as we plan to have a large party in February. So I'll probably be doing housework all week-end. Last week-end I installed a new ceiling fan/light in my bedroom (so I can actually see how to put things away), and we also had to replace a part in the dishwasher, and I don't know if it is completely fixed or now.

I have lots of leftovers to eat this week-end, including Spanish rice and bean dip, which I use in making burritos, quesadillos, and migas. I had pizza three times last week - once at work because we have pizza day the first Wednesday of each month.

I hope everyone's weather improves for the week-end. We're supposed to get some relief from the rain.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Congrats on the new house, Linda! Please remember to post pictures, we'd love to see it! I don't envy you at all, tho as far as decluttering goes! LOL

Annie, don't work too hard this weekend. Hopefully the warmer weather will cooperate and hang in there until you are done with the farm chores.

Stacy, I hope your "mom issues" don't stress you out too much! Have fun with the boys tonight!

Lars, I saw on the news about all the rain you all are getting there. Stay safe and dry!

No really big plans for us this weekend. I am still battling this darn bronchitis. What an annoying ailment! I don't feel sick, but this horrible cough is sucking the life right out of me! Whew!

We are in the beginning stages of finishing off our third bathroom so I may just go window shopping and look at tile and such....we'll see. It's been warmer, but very gray and dreary this past week. Maybe I'll work on my CCC skills! LOL

Will clink later with a glass of Zinfandel! I have a pot roast in the oven for dinner, so it's a comfort food night.

Happy Friday!

Lars - congrats on installing the ceiling fan/light. You are much braver than I am. I can do all sorts of DIY home stuff but I am terrified of installing anything electric, I am convinced I will electrocute myself.

Linda - good luck in the new house! I need to have a major declutter session too.

Annie - I am impressed! I have never heard of anyone smoking homemade pastrami. Once better erather arrives, I will need to get the instructions from you.

Stacy, good luck with the router - I have been in eletronics hell for over a month here - new router was glitchy, then the motherboard went on my new laptop I got around T'giving and it took the GeekSquad 3 weeks to fix it! Hope yours is an easier fix and we will have to have a skype chat with the guys to talk about 24.

Tonight my DH is MCing a Comedy Showcase at a local restaurant tonight. The headliner has been on Letterman, Comedy Central and MTV so it should be a good show. I have been painting our bedroom all day - the ceiling is finally done and I am closing in on the final wall color choice. I have until tomorrow to decide, DH wants the walls done so we can start the floors on Sunday. Wish me luck on the color decision!

Have a happy and safe weekend alL!
