Have you read 'Unbroken'?

If so, what did you think about the book? I'm reading it right now (on my Kindle) and can't seem to put it down. I never thought that a story having to do with Olympic athletes and war would captivate me, but this one certainly has. I really don't have a feel for how much of the story is embellished, but it's such a compelling read. It's difficult to fathom that human beings could ever be so horribly cruel to one another, even in wartime, and yet the human spirit remains resilient - hopeful, and even loving and forgiving. This story really speaks to me of the full capacity of human nature - both to commit unspeakable atrocities and also to demonstrate remarkable courage and selflessness.

If you've read (or are reading) the book, is this a subject matter you ordinarily would not have been interested in? Let me know what you think!
