Hmmm, we bought a standard depth Wave touch, but don't have it yet. They had an IQ touch French door, I think standard depth, on the floor at the store and the shelves did not slide out, so I am wondering if they do in the Wave touch! The side by side IQ touch shelves did slide out.

Thanks for your input. A fully integrated refrigerator allows the �doors of the refrigerator to be completely flush with the cabinets next to it. The hinges allow the door to fold into the cabinet, rather than outside it. �A �counter depth refrigerator will stick out a couple of inches, and even if panel � ready, will still show an inch or 2 of the sides of the refrigerator. I've even been told counter depth panel ready will show a bit of metal on the front door. It has to do with the door hinges. I didn't think there was a difference between built-in and fully integrated, but I could be wrong. My issue with SZ is the lack of split shelves, which we occasionally use to stand taller items like opened wine bottles or pots of soup. We are a family of four, with 2 boys 10,12 who are definitely hitting growth spurts! �The SZ FD also only comes in 36" vs JAN 42", so there is smaller capacity. I'm wondering if we shouldn't just go with panel ready counter depth so we have more brand options and see if we can customize the cabinets to hide the sides. Any thoughts , has anyone done? _______________________________

The appliance dealer I saw today said a panel-ready, full- depth refrigerator does not exist. joboxes, why would you advise against a trim kit? Thanks and good luck thinks2hard.

Electrolux is about to release a new FD refrigerator with no in-door ice/water dispenser. It will come in 4 models -- 2 CD and SD. The differences are two have LED lighting and the Perfect Temp door just like the "Wave Touch". Since the controls are inside the doors on all 4 models, there is no "wave touch" model per se. I haven't been able to determine if the ice in the freezer is their "Perfect Ice'. Electrolux told me that the product is entering production and will be available this quarter; then they said by Dec 1. I'm struggling with whether I can wait that long or not... The new models are not yet on the Electrolux site, but AJMadison does have info on them, including pics. Beware that some of the specs they list are suspect, such as the same cubic feet as the model with the dispensers, yet they say the newer ones are 2" shallower. Also, some of the detailed specs are contradicted elsewhere on their site. But it's a start and probably mostly accurate. They think that may change this week. FWIW, I wrote a few months ago about ruling out the Electrolux FD because of the open-wire freezer doors. I have re-evaluated that, and I really like the Perfect Temp drawer and the 3-shelf freezer (Wave-Touch models). But the final swaying point was the stainless sides. AFAIK, Electrolux is the only manufacturer that "wraps" a standard depth FD in stainless. Due to my configuration, I can't use a CD box. Ellencr
