those danish....help!

Hi there, I tried making the danish last night and this morning I checked on the dough in fridge and it DIDNOT rise, did I do something wrong? I think I followed the directions exacally. Should I proceed or just toss? Hate to waste all those ingrediants! I have made about 5 batches of the cinnmen rolls with great sucess, so wanted to try the danish. Maybe it is the lord;s way of letting me know that I don't need to eat or bake anymore sweets! LOL LOL Any suggestions would be app. and thanks Wendy

Wendy, did the dough not rise at all? This particular dough doesn't rise as much as other doughs but there should be some noticeable rising.

Do you know for sure that your yeast was active?

If so I would go ahead and make the danish.

somehow your yeast died.....or you forgot to add it.
Remove the dough...pat it out about 1/2 inch thick...sprinkle on some yeast, roll the dough up, knead it a little to work the yeast in, cover with saran and leave it in a warm place for several hours.
It works....I have done that!! Yeast dough is very forgiving.

Ann is right. I've made the danish a few times and it really doesn't rise much in the fridge. Did it rise at all?

Now I'm hungry for cheese danish. And I had already decided not to make any more sweets! Ha!

Thanx, I used Ann's advice, so now it is in a warm place rising hopefully!I know my yeast is good and I did put it in, so not sure why I had problems.Anyways thanks for quick responses and I will let you know how it comes out!I was so confident after having such success on the cinnamen rolls that the danish would be a breeze....now I will be kinda hesitent to try again.

Was it possible that your sugar, butter, sour cream mix was still to warm?
