Frustrated with Savio UV light
Comments (11)I can tell you that I have two Savio UV lights (57 watts each) in my Savio skimmerfilter and they have never done the job for me. They are advertised by Savio as being the size needed for my pond and are the largest they sell but just do not keep it algae free. I just bought a new UV from a fellow threader (150 watt) and we will see if it cleans up the problem. I have to tell you I have given this some thought and my pea size brain tells me that it just makes sense when you stop and think about the difference in UV's and how they operate. The Savio filter type sits in the skimmer next to the skimmer basket and is mounted vertically. The one I bought is in line and sits horizontally. Now with that in mind I pictured a match stick floating in the water and then passing by the vertically mounted Savio UV's. It would pass by it in a fraction of a second. That same match stick would have to float the entire length of the horizontally installed UV (almost 6 feet) taking a lot more time. Which would be affected by the UV light more? Naturally the horizontal so it just makes good sense which one would work best. At least that is, to my pea brains way of thinking. I will let everyone know for sure after my sons and I install the new one and it has had a chance to work. Comments (1)Yeah, the computer has a way of sucking us in and keeping us up waaay past our bedtimes! I've just returned from the airport, so that's my excuse. A quick bite to eat then off to bed. Hope you get a good rest tonight, Terilyn....See MoreFrustrated by online booking
Comments (7)So what was the attraction of booking online--if you don't mind my asking? DD and I booked our trip to Arizona through a travel agent. We'd researched online first, knew the flights/prices, etc. Booking with an agent, I got to sit there, comfortably for 20 minutes while she did the work, and printed out all my paperwork. That's all it took. Her price was comparable (within $8) of the online price, and the charge for her services was only $25. But guess what? When the bill came through on my charge card? The price was $30 LESS per person--so we actually came out way, way ahead (that price was way less than I've seen anywhere on line). So what benefit do you get from online booking that I'm missing?...See MoreJust plain frustrated
Comments (9)When we got to Vegas, we went straight to the hotel, Terribles, and had something to eat. We walked the strip most of the night and went into a couple of cassinos and played the slot machines. I wanted to play craps and stop to watch outside shows and even get crazy pictures, like sitting on a motorcycle. Maybe catch a show. He was such a crab apple and didn't really want to do anything that I suggested. When we were headed back to the car to go back to our motel, he was rushing me and didn't seem like he even wanted to be there. He had made all the plans for our spontaneous trip. We haven't been intamite since then. :(...See MoreMandyMooToo
