I had a wonderful recipe that called for grated cheddar cheese, finely chopped canned shrimp and I can't remember what else. It was served on crackers. Anyone have such a recipe? Thanks Ginny

I found the link on someone's website; I'll just add it here... It was unbelievably delicious and tasted JUST like the restaurant's. I did not put in all the oil, just a tablespoon. I used to make these: CHEESE STRAWS 1 stick butter 2 c. grated sharp cheese 1 c. plain flour 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 c. Rice Krispies Cream butter and cheese. Sift flour and cayenne pepper and add to cream mixture. Stir in Rice Krispies. Roll into balls, dip a fork into water and mash balls onto ungreased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Mother's recipe: Cheese Pennies Yield: 3 dozen 1/2 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature 1/2 pound grated sharp cheddar cheese, at room temperature 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix cayenne pepper pecan halves optional Combine butter and cheese and mix well. Add rest of ingredients, except pepper and pecans. Add a few grains of cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly. Divide into 4 pieces. Roll int o balls, press with fork and top with pecan halves if desired and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from pan while warm to prevent breaking

I have made the first two recipes. The second one, my mother used to make that recipe all the time. And the last one I have had at a party. All three are great! Cheese Tea Biscuits 2 C. sharp cheese, grated 2 C. flour 2 C. rice cereal 2 sticks butter, softened 1/2 tsp. red pepper Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all ingredients together. Roll into a roll about 2-3 inches thick. Cover with plastic or aluminum foil and refrigerate until it becomes hard. Slice into thin tea biscuits. Bake in preheated oven on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10 minutes. Do not cook until brown or they will be overdone. Makes about 36. Cheese Pennies Yield: 3 dozen 1/2 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature 1/2 pound grated sharp cheddar cheese, at room temperature 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix cayenne pepper pecan halves optional Combine butter and cheese and mix well. To serve, partially defrost roll, cut slices 1/4 inch thick, top with pecan halves if desired and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cheese Walnut Wafers 4 oz cream cheese, softened 8 oz. blue cheese, crumbled 1/4 cup butter, softened 1 and 1/2 cups flour Pinch of salt 1 tsp. ground red pepper 2/3 cup walnuts, crushed 2 egg yolks, beaten Combine cheeses and butter and mix until blended. Slowly add flour and remaining ingredients until well blended. Shape into 2 log shapes and chill for at least 8 hours. Cut dough into 1/4-inch slices and bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees on an ungreased baking sheet. ***I never rolled them into a log and refrigerated. I just pinched off amt the size of a walnut and rolled them in the palm of my hand, then pressed them with a fork to flaten OR flatten when a pecan/walnut halve.
