Cashew - you had asked me about how I liked cooking with the Demeyere pans. I finally moved in to my new kitchen and have used them every day. I think they are definitely superior to All-Clad. There is something about the finish that allows the food to release almost as though they had a non-stick finish on them. I have been using the small fry pan for omelettes and have no problem using the shake and flip method (learned from watching old julia child episodes) on it. I am very pleased with the purchase and while I'm not throwing out my old all-clad saute pans will now only buy demeyere when adding to my collection. sadie

Ok, so this isn't actaully helpful information, but rather a movie review! For various reasons, I wouldn't buy the copper stuff, but oh my oh my I love to handle it when I'm in Sur La Table. The heft is so delicious, and the coppery gleam is so attractive. My dh and I just went to see Ratatouille, and it was an absolutely delicious movie if you love to cook. The animators did a wonderful job, especially in the kitchen scenes. I loved looking at the copper pans, among other wonderful animated details. And it was funny, we laughed all the way through...maybe because we weren't expecting much from a cartoon. Anyway, we topped off the evening by going out for fondue.

i was wandering around a new Sur La Table yesterday afternoon and discovered 3 little piggies sitting atop one of the displays. They were all sitting so they might not work as well, but they were rather large (large enough to hold a towel) and adorable. I have NO idea on price- i was in a rush, but thought I would pass along the news for any interested parties...I may go back this afternoon (there is a dress on sale calling my name) so I can try to get a picture and test it out! Hope this helps someone on their towel pig search :)

me again... just found a really good deal on surlatable. Its on the Riedel stemless wine glasses. My DH loves to drink his wine this way. They have a set of 8 for $58.80, then take 20% off so that is $47.04. So I did a quick check on the internet to see if I could do better, and lo and behold I can. Amazon has a pair for $19.60 and they are eligible for their buy 4, pay for 3 promotion, and since shipping is free, it is a couple bucks less through amazon! (shipping is 11.50 through surlatable... would be nice if they offered free shipping if you spend $100 or something along those lines). Either way, thought if there are other wine drinkers out there, this makes a very nice Christmas present (it is what DH will be getting!!)
