I love having sculptures in the garden also. We like creating our own. First try was my design Mouth of Truth. She came out pretty good for beginners. Then saw "The Mouth of Truth" in Rome...had to have one. Also created two statues from Salvador Dali painting. I say create your own and your own lore. It is your world to create. Have fun. The Dollar stores in Robbinsdale near Merwins have Glass Hummingbird feeders- Little tealight + glass garden candels- schlockey mini statues- But the best is the Only Deals store next to K-Mart off of 42nd and Winnetka- or any Only Deals- They get some larger stuff, and a larger selection with low prices- from tools to schlockie stuff- I don't know- but I bet they have their stuff out now. There are various reasons why the GEII doesn't bond. Surfaces not totally cleaned (I use alcohol), outdated tube.... I had a birdbath bowl fall off when the buyer was carrying it to his car. I couldn't figure out how it happened because I had pulled on all the pieces to make sure the joints were secure. A man who also does this type of craft looked at it and he thought there were 2 problems. First, the bowl was glued to a very small vase top which was very slick. The buyer was carrying it sideways over his arm so the weight of the heavy bowl pulled it loose from the vase. That was his theory, but it sounded reasonable to me. I also had one ceramic vase that just would NOT bond. I replaced it with another one and it was fine. Most of my projects have cured and held very well.

If by weather you mean rain and sun, ok. If by weather you mean freezing and snow, there might be a problem. China or pottery or that type of "ceramic" will not last outdoors. The freeze and thaw cycle will crack it and pop the glaze off. True ceramic tile is high fired and less porous than regular china or pottery and due to that will last out of doors. I assume by shiny you mean a shiny glaze. You could use thinset mortar but it might need some roughing up with sandpaper to get adherence. Thinset is generally preferred out of doors, but good old silicone adhesive caulk is also excellent out of doors and would be my choice. Further, if you are mosaicing with broken pottery and china, again it can not be exposed to freezing and thawing. I use those materials out of doors and simply bring them in in the fall. an unheated garage or shed is fine as long the item is not exposed to moisture at those temperatures. I see you are in phoenix? If you dont have cold snowy winters there you are probably fine no matter what you do. I should have looked before I typed all that, LOL
