Well, that didn't work!

I made a bundt cake the other day in a pan I use often. It is a smallish bundt made of aluminum that I rescued as a friend was about to toss in the dustbin. She was packing to move out of state and was being pretty ruthless in purging.

Anyway I usually use Baker's Joy as the stuff is perfect for bundt pans. Alternately I use cooking spray or Crisco and a dusting of flour. Even butter. Nothing ever sticks. I had neither of the first two and all of my butter was hard so I used the lard on hand and a liberal dusting of flour. My little cake stuck like crazy! A third of it was left adhered to the pan.

How come?
