Fagor dishwasher - Do you have one?
Comments (1)Yes, I have one. It was installed late November. I have the custom panel LFA073. Very quiet, cleans well. It does have the European baskets with tines that are very close together - so it may not work well with fatter dishes like stoneware, but I have Corelle so I can fit a lot of dishes! We have had no problems except that the detergent dispenser did not open correctly a few times and I figured out that I had loaded dishes so that something had been blocking it. Now that I know that and am more careful about how I load things, no more problem. The settings require you to "know" what code = what setting, but then I always use regular wash so its no big deal to me, but a stranger would be totally confused if they did not have the manual handy. I bought mine from AJ Madison, and it was not a stock item so it took them about a week to get it before they shipped it to me. I'm sure they also charged me less than the website listed ($999) - I called and ordered all my appliances from them. The only other comment I have is that AJ Madison lists it as having heated dry, but it does not. It has "perfect dry" which means it somehow releases the steam slowly (no obvious vent). You can read about it on the Fagor website. That was no big deal to me, but some people insist on heated dry. I think they have another model that has heated dry. Comments (7)This is a big European company which has been here but, like several of them, isn't well known. There are some partial photos of the racks on the link. Issue, of course, is possible service if you can't see the machine locally. A lot of good things said about Kitchen Aid on Appliances. Think those are about the same price range. Info about Fagor from their website (they are basically known for induction cooktops): Fagor Electrodomesticos, based in Spain is the fifth largest appliance manufacturer in Europe, the leading appliance manufacturer in both Spain and France, and the #1 induction cooktop producer in the European Market. Fagor is a worldwide leader in manufacturing components for household appliances, semiconductors, castings for the automobile industry, numerical control systems, cookware and accessories since 1954. The Fagor brand is currently present in 100 countries, employs more than 12,000 people in 17 countries and operates 16 factories in 3 continents. Fagor America, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fagor Electrodomesticos. Since opening their offices in 1992, the Fagor brand name has become synonymous with high-quality stainless steel pressure cookers. Fagor is currently positioned as a top cookware brand, sold at major retailers nationwide and our presence has been largely responsible for the resurgence of pressure cooker sales in the US. Along with Pressure cookers, Fagor America also offers a line of specialty cookware. In 2005, Fagor America established its appliance division in the US. Fagor Appliances bring together the most cutting edge technology and modern design features with a focus on energy efficiency and eco-friendly living. The line includes integrated and semi integrated dishwashers, induction, radiant and gas cooktops, range hoods, refrigerators, wall ovens, washers & dryers and stainless steel storage ce Here is a link that might be useful: Fagor Dishwashers...See MoreFisher Paykel Dishwasher Drawers-do you have them? x post
Comments (22)I have the F&P DD24DCHTX6, it has a tall drawer on top and a regular one on the bottom. I think it's great; no splashing, no open door to block traffic or bash in your shins again. Like Bireland it took awhile to learn how to load it. Unlike Bmorepanic I've found the cleaning to be great. Some things are much cleaner than ever before. Tea strainers etc. very nice. Coffee and tea stains never on mugs anymore. Tired old wineglasses so sparkly. For the first little while I tested it daily with incrementally cruddy pots and plates and it always got them clean. Like Kimkitchy, if I could do it over again I would put a single drawer on either side of the sink. I love not having to bend over at all to load or unload the top drawer which I use most of the time. I live alone but I cook & bake all the time and there are always lots of dishes. If I could do one on either side of the sink I'd select a tall single and a regular one and put pot drawers underneath them. Others have mentioned how useful the 2nd drawer is for loading when the first one is already full or running. I do that as well but also love it for a drain-board for hand-washed items. No stupid ugly rack on the countertop. With regard to the noise I think they are very quiet and friends have commented on just how quiet. There is some sound but it's not annoying at all. Silly to admit but I wait until bedtime to put them on because then, when the house is completely quiet, you can hear them and I like the lulling swishing as I drift off to sleep....See MoreCan I use the dishwasher water heater for the sink as well?
Comments (2)Some dishwashers are designed to be hooked to cold water, Miele for example. A Miele can be hooked to hot water, but then you lose the ability to run a China cycle. We installed a recirculating pump so we can get hot water quickly & not waste water. We have the pump running in the morning & can turn it on other times as needed. The on-demand hot water heater (not to be confused with an instant hot water dispenser) is a good idea....See Morechefnewbie
