Sealed burners have taken a real beating here on GW by all the open burner fan-boys. I too, wondered if I hadn't missed out on something after I installed a DCS AG. Then those same fan-boys posted Youtube videos of how "easy" it is to clean their cooktops, which absolutely convinced me I had made the correct choice. Firstly, all sealed burner ranges are not created equal. I'm willing to admit that there likely are ones that distribute their flame pattern up the sides of pots, and cook spills/overflows into carbonized cement on their burner decks. But I don't have one of those. I have a DCS. It has two sizes of burners - 17.5K BTU, and 12.5K BTU. My smallest pot is 6" in diameter and the flames of the smaller burner stay under its base, even on max. My other pots/pans are 8" or larger, and I use them on the larger burners. All burners are capable of very low simmer - perfect for rice, sauces, or holding extras for 2nd helpings. I mostly clean the deck with a damp sponge. Sometimes I need to use a plastic scrubby first, and very occasionally, something requires scouring with Bar Keeper's Friend. The burner heads come apart really easily, but I've seldom needed to do so to clean up. The oven has an infra-red broiler, convection fan, and rolling racks. I've never noticed how hot the door gets, but I'm sure I'd have burned myself often if it overheated. I'm not the only DCS owner who posts here, and we are all very happy with our ranges.

There are three things you can buy. Lincrusta costs a fortune -- it's from the 1800s and they use the original machines to make it, and one that printed wainscoting broke down last year and no parts to fix it. It's firm and hard and thick. Anaglypta costs a little less and is thicker than wallpaper but thinner than Lincrusta. These two products have the higher raises and deeper depths to them, Lincrusta having the most depth. The pictures I posted are Lincrusta, to my recollection. I don't know. If you mean like what I pictured above? No I don't think so. That is Lincrusta and it is hand painted. Drooooool, huh? Yeah, me too. I think it is stunning. I would use it on the lower half of the wall only, so it won't be overwhelming. This treatment is something I've been thinking about doing in my own bathroom, but I haven't done it yet. If you buy the Lincrusta from that site, I'll bet they would be happy to tell you exactly which paint to buy and how to achieve the effect you want BUT they are in England, so what they have there may not be the same as what we have here. I did get the beadboard wallpaper from this company and liked them very much and found the paper easy enough to apply (though you have to be careful not to tear it when it's wet). Then again, I AM tempted to go in and measure and see if I could get by with just ONE roll of that Lincrusta. Naughty me. Because that stuff makes me go weak in the knees.

I recommend that you post your question on the appliance forum. You will get more responses. I would get the Wolf gas range, convection wall oven with the steam oven above it. This way you have the gas range oven for a large turkey, the convection and steam oven for other items, I have a Wolf range and I love it!!!!

Folks here are only going to be able to offer suggestions if you post photos of the rooms. As saypoint said above, post one room/area at a time and then define what you need help with, as in paint colors, rug ideas, window coverings. Make sure you specify what you are keeping so someone doesn't tell you to ditch the couch you just bought. Also, photos need to show the whole room/area and not just a fireplace or one wall. Finally, make sure you know/say how much money you want to spend so people don't recommend ideas outside your range.
