The plastic is held down at the top 2 by 4. On the outside of the structure, I have the plastic sandwiched between the 2 by 4 and a 1 by 2 furring strip. The 1 by 2 is screwed to the 2 by 4 every 12 inches. Next year I am going to go every 6 inches. During the fiercest storms we had, the plastic did pull up and ripped. It wasn't bad. I just unscrewed the 1 by 2 and pulled it back tight. When I take the plastic off this winter, I am going to take it to my school or church and unfold it and tape any holes. That way it will be ready for next spring. I got the plastic, Klerk's K-50 from Stuppy's Greenhouse and Supply in Kansas City. We have to go to KC every 6 months for our daughters check up with the doctor there. I was excited to find them and they are only 1.5 miles away from the hospital we visit. With the plastic, shop around and pick it up if you can. The roll I get weighs 92 pounds. I am guessing it would cost alot to ship. Also, the price was cheaper if I picked it up and paid cash. I did get pictures taken this week of some of the features I am talking about. I will share them later. My wife downloaded them on another computer and shut it off. Thanks for the complements! Jay

The fact that the laptop ran and passed the diagnostic test is promising for sure. Computers are designed to shut down automatically when overheating occurs to protect the processor (CPU) so you are unlikely to put the computer at risk. As you were confident enough to change the fan you might consider going into the BIOS on start up. Then depending on the BIOS used you can move across the top using the left or right arrow keys. Select the choices nearer the right side and hit Enter. Now you will see the contents listed underneath, you are looking for the page that gives you the temps and voltages. See how close the running temp is to the alarm upper threshold. Click ESC to escape without saving any changes. Failing that you could download and install Speccy which is owned by the same folks as Ccleaner. It will give you a wealth of information on your machine.

Hmmm... It's been a while since we started, but here's what I remember. We ran the pump continuously for the first week. There were no chemicals (that means no SWG) for the first couple of days as the plaster/pebblesheen cured a bit. Then, the PB added a bunch of acid to bring the PH down to where it should be, and added liquid chlorine - also known as bleach. I'm pretty sure that we didn't run the SWG until 30 days after start-up. Not sure why... At some point, you'll have to check and adjust the Calcium level, this'll likely be a month or two after water goes in. Not sure exactly when that's supposed to happen, our PB's start-up guy just quit coming. I finally did it myself. You'll also be adding a stabilizer to the pool, so the chlorine doesn't get broken down by the sunlight. Again, I had to do this one myself, I'd imagine you'll be adding that almost immediately since it's summertime. Our water went in just before Christmas, so we didn't need it until Spring. Your PB will (should) give you specifics, it'll depend on your installation. Please understand that liquid chlorine/bleach/chlorine tabs/chlorine from the SWG are all the same. It's chlorine! It's the stuff that sanitizes your pool. That is, it kills the germs. The salt somehow seems to 'buffer' the chlorine, allowing a better feel on your skin and eyes. (There are plenty who will dispute that on a chemical basis - I'm going by what I feel) You'll have the same amount of chlorine in your pool as a non-SWG pool. In fact, you can mix and match. Once things get going, you'll have your SWG creating most or all of the chlorine that the pool requires, and you can shock the pool when necessary by either using the SWG, or store bought "Shock," or by using good old household bleach - unscented. That info's here, it's just very difficult to search for. The chemistry really is easy, it just takes a little learning. I strongly recommend learning a bit about the "BBB" method - way cheap, and available at the grocery store!
