I love your blog also. I saw beige coffee filters at TS yesterday & almost bought them to experiment with leaves but then i didn't as I thought they might not take color right& would look dirty. Any brand of white bleached ones will work I guess. Better check out MS site & get it down as I really love the roses!! What a great idea jeaninWA has to make the handprints up of each child. Great for the xmas tree & then straight into the baby book as a wonderful memory!! I used my kids hands & footprints once for some craft & that was cute-too long ago to remember.LOL Jan

Karen..I like Sal's idea. Here's what my sister did. Her runner had pointed ends. She folded one point over onto the front, the amount she folded over was eyeballed until it looked right.this let the back fabric show on the front. She then sewed by hand through the back, catching the back of the folded down are with stitches, but did not let the stitches show onto the front of the folded down part. She stitched about 1 1/2 to 2 inches down...this made a casing. She then sewed a tassel onto the turned down part's point and pinned on a beautiful brooch she had that co ordinated with the fabric. (could use a fancy button too.) She then slipped in a piece of dowel rod painted to match the tassel color and about 6 inches longer than the runner's width. She placed cup hooks in the wall so that the runner hung just inside them. She put the dowell on the cup hooks, and then she hung satin cording with tassels off the ends of the dowells that stuck out. It looks like a beautiful bell pull..and hangs between her dining room and living room. I think these would make a stunning display grouped together...or on either side of a window or doorway. Let us know what you decide to do. Good idea!!

Flamey...I SO agree with all you posted and although I have never been to 'Etsy'..I'm headed there to see what's up. I also agree w/Susanjf as to the fact-perhaps with the state our country is in-job losses, etc..may be we'll all strap in & start making more useful gifts & quit spending $$ at the stores for gifting. I, like the 'pink bird'...tend to craft towards useful home dec things vs.."dust catchers"..more to my liking. So many of the big, annual craft shows here in FL are basically 'the same old things-just more of them'-to the point I quit attending them. About 7 yrs ago-I held annual Xmas craft parties here in my home, for the gals in my park...women who NEVER even crafted nor thought they could-are gung ho now..many even bought glue guns! LOL! Methinks all some folks need is to be shown how to do one craft & it may spur their creative juices to spread their imagination into bigger & different creative ideas. I really wish the tv networks would increase crafting shows.
