Looks like a nice machine for the price.
I would first uninstall the trial programs like:
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Edition, 60-day trial version (you can then install, OpenOffice which is free)

Norton Internet Security 2009, 30-day trial version (go to the Norton site and get the uninstaller for this version then uninstall it)Now download install and update Avast Free.

Also, either go to your User Manual(either enclosed with the laptop or the electronic version on the laptop) follow directions and make a copy of your Recovery DVD.

Let me know how it runs...I got one too and was sort of ripped apart on onether forum because the chip is old and slow...or so they say....I have to believe its fine for web surfing and general Word/Excel work....

which router did you get? if you got that same linksys G wireless that I got it will be a snap to do just put the cd into the pc and follow the directions it steps you right through it, but do write down all the passwords and names etc and especially your WPA2 key which you will have to enter into each of the wireless computers to connect to your wireless. Set up a very good strong non-word password for your router, Change the ssid to something unique that is what will show as the name that broadcast for your wireless network I personally did not want my name anywhere on it my neighbor has his as his name so when I see it pop up I know it is his, one I see pop up on my list is called pandora a better choice. I just went with the generated WPA2 key, be sure you do select the WPA2 as your level of security. Oh and it will try to sell you what they have on the router as network magic you do not need to buy that just say no and if you do not want them to send you a bunch of email uncheck when you get to that part that ask if you want them to send you email, other than that it is all very simple. As I said I did have to power everything down after I finished the set up for the computers to find the wireless, shut down the pc, unplug power from modem and router, then wait a bit, plug in the modem let it fully light up and connect then plug in the router let it fully light up and connect then turn on your computers and look for the wireless network with the name you gave it. You will have to use that password key to log in to your new wireless.
My husband had the ACER and it found it immediately with out doing a thing, my acer netbook I had used previously on other networks and I just went into my settings and changed the name of my wireless network in there so it would use mine.
