Asking again???

I have used system restore, or what ever you call it, several times in Oct and Nov. I tried this week, and it will only go back to the lst. of Dec. I have it on Max. What is going on? Help Please? I try to do a system point each and every month along with what the computer saves each month.Where did my other months go? I am not a computer expert, so forgive my terminology. pk

I think there maybe some confusion of what System Restore is used for,

Why did you use system restore several times in Oct, and Nov? Was there a problem with the computer?

System Restore is no substitute for regularly backing up your data. System Restore comes into play when your computer becomes unstable.

As far as your question some of that was addressed in the other post.

If this is something different you have noticed with System Restore then disable system restore now reboot the computer, go back in and put System Restore back on, Doing this will clear all restore points xp will start making more, see if that helps or makes a difference.

I will leave you with this question and I think it was asked in the other post.

How big is the hard drive?

How much free space is on it?

The reason I ask the above questions is if the disk drive (Hard Drive) becomes full System Restore will not create Restore points.

Ohhhhh divided responses!! Let me see if I can dig up some old photos where I had drapes on the windows & a "faux" roman shade on the doors. I was kinda ~so so ~ on it. I just love the look of woven romans & panels so much. Wish I didn't have that wonky FP!! Val, I am looking at samples now for a rug. Maybe I should do a rug first. Have you tried contacting the Dachshund Rescue group to see if they could assist? Their site says they have a network throughout the states. They might have some kind of system in place that could assist with transport. (There is also a Florida forum in the gardening section. Your builder should have a photograph or color rendering of your house as it will look when finished. I would ask him for that and upload it to roofing sites that allow you to try different colors. Or post it here and hope one of the photoshopping wizards will help you out. Sorry, I thought you were also the siding color poster in another thread, edited out question about that. I asked this on the other thread and I know it sounds like something everyone would do but believe me I have found on numerous occasions people did not know that there was a little arrow next to the calendar in system restore that let you view the previous months restore points, It only shows the actual month we are in in full view but will go back to show other months using the arrow. So to make sure we are on the same page here have you done that and it shows no other months other than Dec?

Did you click on the arrow in the upper-left corner of the calendar box to take you back to November?

LOL janette that is what I have asked twice, just in case anyone does not know where the little arrows are here is a picture, you can see the little next to the month name

Raven, I didn't ask this question, BUT, I did learn something I didn't know before. thanks for putting that picture in the posting, I would never have guessed those little arrows meant a thing, now I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I did hit the little arrows. My system was just upgraded and I have approx. 80% hard drive free. I just wanted to know what happened to Nov, and October, No trouble on Computer, just looking for a little icon that popped up on screen about I think it was about Nero, where you could just drag and drop to burn a CD or what ever you wanted to do, without opening the whole program. It was on the screen, but is gone now, just wanted to see if it popped up after a restore to another date. Hope someone can answer the question I first posted. trisha

You indicated that your system was just upgraded. From what to what?? That may be the reason why you dont have restore dates for Nov and Oct if it was just recently upgraded??

A simpler way to replace the icon is to click 'Start', click 'All programs' then right click on 'Nero', click 'Send to' then click to send to desktop as a shortcut.

I HAVE a shortcut to nero, this icon I had never seen before. My sister had done a restore, looking for something that had been on my computer and this is when that icon showed up. I don't remember what happened to it, but it is gone and I cannot go back further than Dec. Thanks for all your help.
