Sending Unwanted Multiple Emails

I have a problem with my Outlook Express sending an email multiple times. This usually happens when I have a fairly large attachment hooked to the email. The email goes to the OUTBOX.....and just sits there. A bit later, I will get a call or an email from the person who I had sent the email to.....telling me that they have received 50 copies of the same email (the one I sent earlier). When I check, the email is still sitting in the Outbox. When I delete it from my Outbox.....then the multiple emails will cease.

I have run virus scans and I appear to be clean. Has anyone heard of this problem? Does anyone have a solution? It is a problem I want to solve.

Someone asked this previously and as I recall no solution was found. I just asked google about this problem and found this solution:

The Send Items.dbx file has reached the file size limit (2 GB) that the Outlook Express can handle it.
After send the email, OE can't copy to Send Items folder the mail that was send, and the mail stills at the Outbox folder.

All my steps to solve this problem:
- To backup mails inside the Send Items folder, i create a new folder and copy all mails to this new folder;
- Exit Outlook Express;
- Delete Send Items.dbx file;
- Start Outlook Express (OE Will create a new, and empty, Send Items.dbx file).

Here is another solution someone else sent me.

"YOU don't have your setting under "accounts" set for maximum time to send [under properties, advanced folder .. server time outs set for maximum 5 minutes] out files.. consequently they time out and because they are not finished... Outlook automatically sends
them again..."

I tried this solution but I have not had a chance to test it yet. Bob....I will try your solution too.....and maybe between the two I will have my problem solved. I thank you for your help.

Nancy...GOT IT!!!! Thanks everybody for participating and hope you all got something you could use. Nancy thanks for your special additions, they will all get used, and as for everything else...it has either found a home in my supply closet or will be set aside for the next Craft Supply Robin. THANKS Nancy...and thanks eerybody else. I will be sending Janet another email...we'll see what happens....this is just a little frustrating since she was the last stop before the Robin comes home. yes blocking the address is really useless, but setting up word filters for your spam filters will help. I do not use Yahoo so someone else will have to help you with how to do that there. also be sure that when you get these emails you do not simply delete them instead send them to your spam or junk mail folder so that your email client can learn from your actions what you consider spam. and never unsubscribe from any of them, just send them unopened to the spam/junk file.
