A tip, and a question.

I like trying to figure out things first and learn before I ask for help.

A tip I learned:

I went crazy trying to figure this one out. The mouse pointer for my Dell Inspiron laptop had a mind of its own; It went from one place to another on the screen by itself. I spend days trying different things, including scan for Trojans and viruses.

Finally, I found out that it was interacting with the touch pad.

So I disabled the touch pad.

A question I have not been able to figure out:

I am trying to connect my laptop (Windows XP Prof.)to my wireless system using Linksys Wireless-G laptop adapter.

It is asking for Passphrase and WEP Key.

How do I find the Passphrase and WEP Key on my desktop (Windows XP) which is connected to the wireless Linksys router?

Look in your router, in the "Wireless" settings. Look for the place where you set the encryption to "WEP" -- the "key 1" will be nearby.

you can use a generator to give you a custom key which I think is helpful

however you do know that WEP is not very secure that you should be using WPA or WPA2 right?

Find the instruction book for the Linksys Router

Enter the router setting interface page in your web browser (might be http://192.168.1.1 but that's just a guess)

Find the security settings for the Linksys router and write down the passphrase and WEP key.

There are several ways to cut milk jugs, everyone has their favorite. I use a hinge type, using scissors to cut around 3 sides but leaving the paper label side intact. I cut right below the handle so the bottom is able to accomodate 3 to 4" of soil. I usually make a few slices around the shoulders too, to facilitate opening more/bigger holes as spring weather warms. Also use plenty of drainage holes in bottom. To close, fold closed and secure with one or two vertical strips of duct tape. I never use the screw on cap. I don't even save them. I discard immediately. Karen

I cringe every time my dogs are in the back yard - one of them will 'run' backwards, not at all looking where she is going and plow right into my plants, limbs, stakes, rebar and all. I agree, the leaves will regenerate quickly, much more quickly than if a tip or branch were broken. I would give it as much sun and heat as you can and then bring the plant in when the temps are dipping - what are your outside temps getting to? Many times in early spring I would take the plants out in the morning and bring them in when I got home from work until the temps were consistently higher and they could be left out. Plumies love sun and warmth so the more the better! good luck and please keep us updated as your plant grows!

1. Our basement floor has no rebar or fiber mesh added and the tub hole hasn't cracked at the corners. 2. Normal thickness is fine. Before pouring, I would ensure that the tub hole has access to drainage and the foundation is properly drained to avoid an potential water coming up out of the tub hole in the future.

If they rooted well then cut them off and plant them in small pots. You can let them go into dormant state this winter and protect them from rabbits and plant them in the ground next spring. Tony

Where is the CD that came with the router? Slip that in and select the easy or auto install and away you go. You'll need a name for the router and a password.

If that is lost visit the appropriate page on the Linksys web site

Thanks guys for your help.

I forgot to mention that I have two other PCs already link to the router thru wireless adapters. I was afraid that if I assign a new passphrase, it would knock out the other two already linked.

I should have copied down the passphrase.
