I used 2-3" little pots. For the bigger and heavier cuttings I used 4-6" pots. I used to have HUGE (I mean it, Giant) size Oxypetalum. It didn't bloom the first couple years. It was worth it, after that, it just kept giving me blooms and blooms. I kind of neglected that plant, no special care. One year I even didn't bring it in when winter came, it survived. It was getting too big and heavy for me to bring it in last winter and colder than our usual winter, it didn't survive. I'm still mourning about it. I have a new one right now, still young. It's more vigorous than other epies, lots of new growth already. As far as I know, night blooming epies mostly are white and species kind. I also have Strictum and Guatemalensis that are still babies, these are species too, I think. The hybrids mostly are day blooming and come in lots of colors: yellow, purple, pink, red, orange, mixed colors. These things are addictive. In fact, I just got 10 rooted cuttings today.

The exact name of the plant is Epiphyllum oxypetalum. It is extremely easy to grow, fairly drought tolerant, and grows prolifically once it gets started. We have to prune it so much that we end up throwing away half the plant because we have no more room. They are easy to root, and so I have rooted a lot of cuttings and given them away. The fragrance they produce is overwhelming, but the flowers only last one night, and are over by morning. Still, they put out quite a few flowers at a time and more buds will be opening tonight. I have a lot of other epiphyllum, but they do not get this large. Birds like to perch on top of this plant, and I can see the birds from my living room by looking through the window at the top of my door. The plant also requires a lot of staking. Lars
