We are at the point where they will be insulating the house next week. So framed up, dried in, and roughed = done deal. Separate battery backup and additional spare pump is good. External pumps and drywells aren't good in freeze/thaw climates though. When you have a lot of water, there are best practices for basement foundations. I would bet none of these were done and the builder isn't even aware of them. Examples of better: - solid pipe, not corrugated - drain tile cleanouts - proper geotextile wrap and gravel all the way up the wall - covering the asphaltic damproofing with waterproof membrane and dimple mat - interior footing drain tile with other underslab pipes - bentonite or neoprene footing key and slab seals - non-retail bought pump and/or multiple sump pits sized for the measured gpm - optional water-powered backup sump pump or generator - grading and downspouts addressed Not to alarm you, but a critical point is do the footings have the proper bearing soil. Even if their trash pumps could remove enough water temporarily to pour the concrete, what was the condition of the soil and who ok'd it?

We've just finished The English with Emily Blunt and enjoyed it very much. We've recently started watching Star Trek: Picard. The last episode we saw was the one where he visited "Will Riker and Deanna Troi". It was great to see their very familiar faces again! We're still watching Joe Pickett, which we all enjoy. We recently saw a few episodes of No Murders in the Building. But, as much as we like all the actors in it, it just didn't hold our interest. And, we started watching -for the first time ever! - Breaking Bad, which is kind of ironic as we not only live here in New Mexico where it was filmed but they actually filmed numerous episodes of both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul right across the road from us! Our son tells me that they were the episodes at some drug lord's compound in Mexico. There's a beautiful built-in pool and killer mountain and mesa views in those episodes. In fact, Brian Cranston used to walk up and down in front of my home talking on his cell phone and reading his script while filming there. Did I talk to him? Nope. We have a very long driveway, and back then he was not all that well known to me. Anyhoo, DH and I started watching it last month, but I quickly got tired of the violence and drug stuff. Now, DH watches it by himself on Thursday evenings. I'm anxious to find our next series by reading all your posts here!

We watched Indiana Jones last night ... SO rarely picks our movies but last night he did. I think it was just what you would expect of an Indiana Jones movie ... the plot was simple and the adventure/trek was outrageous. It was at times clunky and a little long but really, it was just what we expected and we enjoyed it well enough. It was dumb fun-- just what we wanted. SO is a math geek and especially enjoyed the link to Archimedes and the Antikythera-- fictionalized and embellished as it was.

I do the same as Terriks - I alternate b/w Acorn, Britbox and PBS Masterpiece (offers a lot of foreign programs). I subscribe via my Prime account and just cancel/resubscribe thru Prime. I also occasionally subscribe to Apple TV, originally so I could watch Ted Lasso, then canceled until the last season came out then H and I binged and canceled.
