Is there a method of converting pdf docs to Excel or word without buying new software?

You can google "converting pdf to word" and pick the one that appeals to you. Some free some not.

Take a look at Zamzar.com

I first used it a couple of weeks ago and my conversion is still flying around out there in cyberspace. Several members have been successful with it and do recommend it.

Be advised it is not a secured site so you would be wise not to use critical or personal data.

I use the screen capture utility Picpick for things like that. It is recommended on gizmo's site. Push the print screen key and it opens, select capture region and hold down the mouse key to draw a rectangle around the puzzle and you can print it, paste it, save it or other options.

I solved my own problem. In the original e-mail I was able to Save to the desktop where I was able to use the converter just fine. Glad I was able to figure out something so simple. Just a senior moment, I guess.

The easiest way that I know of is to take a digital picture of the plans. Either: * take a pic of the hard copy (if you can fit a whole page in the view finder) ...or * print out the PDF with the Page Scaling set to "Reduce to Printer Margins" (when you click on Print, half-way down the print dialog it says "Page Handling", that's where you'll find number of "Copies" as well as the "Page Scaling" options) If needed, also check the "Auto-Rotate and Center" checkbox. Now, take a digital picture of each page that you just printed out. Finally, you can upload the picture(s) to your computer, resize as needed, upload to Flicker, and post! HTH!

Adobe X Reader can convert your PDF files to Word. I've linked the download site below. And, it will convert Word to PDF if you have the need.

I don't know what I would do without Word!
I LIVE on it!
I just Copy and Paste to MS Word what I have open in pdf.
Have to have the Tools to do it. There is a way around it if what you are viewing does not have the tools for you to use.

I use PDF-Xchange viewer and have transferred files from pdf to word by opening the document in PDF viewer and clicking on tools > basic tools > select tool then selecting the text, copying it and pasting it into a word document.
