We have done really well with our minis. Priced at $3. We will raise the price of our larger bouquets next year to $6 or have fewer flowers and still charge $5. We are finding that harlequin marigolds are real eye catchers and get people to stop. One lady literally stopped in her tracks this weekend. They are great colours for fall. They last over a week and have nice long stems - plus they don't smell strongly of marigold. The pic is of our pill bottle posies of the marigold. Next year we will do more gomphrena and celosia. I will be starting a stand of armeria as well - we have a section of yard where a driveway used to be an instead of trying to amend the soil we will plant something that likes sandy soil. The joysticks version looks great. I've got verbascum started and pyrethrum (not nearly enough). I am finding that having what other people don't have is a very good tactic for selling and it is interesting for me!

Mexican Flame Vine with a fun snowman/reindeer card from rbrady - I have NEVER ever tried these, and I have been wanting to forever! I am SO. EXCITED! about these!!! Thanks a million! From dem-pa, I got some Philadelphia White Box Radishes, Flamingo Feather Celosias, and Sugar Baby Watermelons! I have never grown the first 2 varieties and can always use more watermelon seeds! The radishes look really neat - and I will happily save seeds from them to share with others in the future. Those celosias look stunning. I have only grown mixes of celosias so I am just really psyched about the ones you sent. Thank you!!! I am so excited about all the new seeds I have received. Every variety will be planted and loved. Happy New Year, Everyone! I think I have some explaining to do - bear with me! Ever since I joined GW, I've followed the Secret Santa threads, didn't quite understand how it worked, never asked and never joined in. I finally had some time to read the posts (amazed at everyone's generosity!), imagine my surprise to thanked so many times for the cards and magnets! What happened is this: I had a huge box of Christmas cards, many, many years worth, and this year I decided to do something with them - thus the magnets. Figured they would be great little, inexpensive gifts - decided to send them to all the FOTESS members and others in GW whom I have swapped with this year. Also to family, friends, Bunco group, neighbors, and strangers out on the street (just kidding!) SO that's the explanation as to why I didn't send seeds with them, in case anyone was wondering! Lisa/ishare, Rose and all others - I lost your addresses when my computer crashed - Watch out for Valentine's Day! I'm so glad everyone liked the cards/magnets, I had fun doing them, plus got THAT box out of the attic! All righty then, back to taking down the tree. For all of you with cats: do you have to search under the furniture and in all the nooks and crannies for ornaments before putting it all away? Shirley!
