Dian are you running Windows One Care Live? Or is it on your computer? If so this is a legitimate file. Your location for it seems wrong though. After the C:\ are there 3 dots...? If so this indicates there are other folders in between.

Right click Start
click explore
click Program files in the left side
click the plus sign beside Windows One Care.
Now look down the right side of your screen for the file.

I had the warning come up again as I came on-line just now. And no it only has the : dots and the backward \ .
I checked in Explore to see if I had Windows One Care, Was pretty certain I didn't. And No I do not have it on my computer.I did have it about two years ago. And removed it and all traces of it, Just did a search for any left overs of it. And nothing showed up. I tryed doing a Google search for the C:\WinssRec.exe. But Google was unable to find any such file. Ty for your effort tho. Wondering if I should just tell Avast to ignore the file , and not to report it anymore. Ty Dian

why did you not submit it? that is exactly what you should do is submit it so they can analyze it and see if it is indeed the rootkit version of that file or the legit file which is giving a false positive.
If it is the rootkit that is a serious infection.

in the meantime if you do not have malwarebytes get it and follow these directions.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file in your next reply

I did try to submit. I left the green submit button checked. And even went to the below link of privacy policy. But saw no where to submit it to. Tryed doing a copy paste of it to send to Avast . But it will not copy paste. Is there some special thing I can do to achieve this.Maybe a screen print then paste into a letter to them. Please help me with this if you can. I will now go and download the Malware program you suggested and see what that finds . Ty

I did download Malware Bytes. Ran it and only found 2 minor objects ,such as happens from any web page . On a temporary basis. I do Have Spyware Guard, and Spybot search and dystroy Running on this computer. And use them at least once a week each. So I believe unless I figure out the way to submit this warning from Avast. Then I will just click to ignore and not to report it again. Ty and unless I hear something to the contrary in at least another day. I will just ignore. I have had Avast flag suspicious files in the past and they turn out to be harmless. Hope this is the case with yours. I'd far rather get false positives than have it miss a baddy.
