If you use the internal GardenWeb uploader which does one pic per post (not per thread, but per post) then if you don't have an external hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket, the pictures will always remain in the post. However, if you do post pictures from Flickr or Photobucket albums, should you ever DELETE those albums, the picture is removed from GardenWeb as well. The HTML code we use to upload from say Flickr to here is merely a marker to the actual location, and that's why we have blanks in some threads where once lovely images appeared. It is the one thing that keeps me from changing from Flickr, which is undergoing the reorganization and change of focus since Yahoo bought it. Likewise, I use Yahoo mail, and it is a real pain in the derriere what they are doing to my email! I get so tired of them tinkering with something that is NOT BROKEN. Plus, I am really horrified that websites keep trying to force me to sign in with Facebook or Twitter, when I try to stay far far away from those sites. It is "group think" and I do not intend to expose my life to such invasions of privacy. The latest Firefox upgrade did something to my "default" apps/programs to play music or sound, and I was very puzzled suddenly not to do slide shows and such. Perhaps it is the latest Firefox upgrade, Berndny, which you too ran afoul of. I fixed my problem by changing from Windows Media Player to the Quicktime Player built into Firefox. Having to think about the background operations of the system is really frustrating, when all I want to do is ignore the system and enjoy the material. Seamless is good, forget the rest.

Ravencajun, it did confirm that I had updated after I installed it. Maybe I'm not explaining this right. Before I upgraded, when I opened Firefox I'd get the picture of the fox circling the earth, underneath that would be Google, then a blank space to type in a search and that was all. Now I get that, plus underneath either "Love Firefox? Want to help make our next version even better?" or "Using Firefox on several computers? Now you can synchronize your add-ons across them all. Find out how to activate Sync." along with the box that says "restore previous session." I'd just like to have the page like it was before. Am I making sense?

I posted this on the current topic in discussions but thought I'd add it here for reference: I use Firefox and Adblock and have never seen an ad, popup or intellitext on GW. I use Firefox on both my Windows and Mac computers and it's true for both of them. 1. Open Firefox browser 2. Cut and Paste this link into your browser: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 3. Click add to Firefox button 4. A window will pop. Click install now button 5. Restart firefox for the add on to take effect 6. then go to tools>Adblock Plus Preferences and add the following filters: */adbanner/* */advertisements/* http://*/adserver.example.com/* 7. Click OK That together with the filters installed with the program, should get rid of just about everything. Anything else that shows up, just right click on the ad and click BLOCK. HTH

Thanks all! I removed the copy of firefox and reinstalled 3.5. I think I found the problem. Somehow firefox was loaded but not displayed. I restarted the computer and it unloaded firefox. When it restarted the icon on the dt worked. It was ver 3.5 from mozilla home page. I apologize for the post on RC trips and tricks. I appreciate all the help. John in AL
