What is the difference between stainless steel and clean steel
Comments (1)We recently bought a GE CleanSteel dishwasher. The major difference is, you get the look of SS, but it won't leave fingerprints and has the ability to hold magnets. Cleanup is a breeze. I just wipe down with a damp cloth then dry with a lint-free micro cloth. Here is a link that might be useful: short description of CleanSteel...See Morestainless steel sinks- differences
Comments (22)Is it best to have the drain in the center, rear center or rear corner? Please explain. Thanks in advance... IMO, rear or rear corner drains are best. They provide a lot more space for other things below the sink, as the space behind the drain is essentially inaccessible, especially with a disposal. In my case, I got a sink with a rear corner drain for my prep sink. In an 24" cabinet, I not only have the sink, I have a large disposal (1 HP), I also have a foot pedal controller for the faucet, and an air switch. I have (most importantly) a standard kitchen (13 gallon) trash can in the same cabinet. I store 3 one-gallon jugs of liquids, plus a couple of bottles of cleaning spray, all in a single 24" cabinet. I could not store half of that stuff, especially the vital trash can, if I had a center drain. IMO, there is no downside to a rear or rear-corner drain, except that it is harder for the plumber to install it. The only thing to watch for is if there is enough space for a disposal, especially with a corner drain. The disposal is much larger in diameter than the drain itself would be....See MoreDifferences in stainless steel appliance's stainless steel
Comments (7)The other option is to just get over it. :) A kitchen is a workroom. Most people prefer to choose best in class from many different manufacturers to ensure their work room works efficiently. No manufacture makes best in class in each category, so if you choose the best functioning DW, you will probably end up with a different brand range and a different brand fridge anyway. As long as everything IS stainless, it's fine. And, there are plenty of people who even mix stainless and non stainless successfully. Anyone who comes in your home and turns their nose up at coordinating stainless appliances that do not necessarily match needs to be thrown out of your home....See MoreStainless steel finish on different brands
Comments (9)I actually went with the Frigidaire Professional series. It is real stainless, and the finish is different than there regular Frigidaire Gallery series. It does look more brushed, but softer brushed and not as "fake" as the other. They say it has some sort of coating on it so it doesn't show smudges and fingerprints and it really works. I would love to have a finish like my neighbors Kitchen Aid, but it smudges terrible and she is always wiping it down and that would drive me CRAZY. So this was my compromise.
