How long should it take a master plumber to do the following jobs
Comments (5)I don't know how long other companies do it, but I found one that repaired all the equipment in my house in one day, but when I mean everything, I'm not kidding at all. When I moved into the new apartment, I came across some guys who changed my technique from one apartment to another, damaging them for me. I was disappointed and confused, but I was lucky with the new neighbors who advised me to resort to emergency plumbing dallas because they are considered the best experts. Being already unwell, I called them without thinking, and that was the best choice I made....See MoreHow long should it take to get a window quote?
Comments (1)My concern would be how responsible and professional is a company that takes two weeks+ to submit a quote. If the company tells you up front that it will take two weeks for a quote, then that's fine. No problem; they had clear communication. But if they don't offer a time frame and it takes that long when they're trying to get your business, that might be an indication as to how long it would take if there's problems with the windows once they're installed....See MoreHow long should cabinet install take?
Comments (15)Thanks for your input. All these comments are so helpful. Well, it is the end of his work day and 4 upper cabinets minus the trim are in plus the range hood, which involved some finagling of wires and routing out the plaster wall. I think at this rate it will take him to the the end of the week to get it all together with touch ups, trim, and hopefully installing a temporary plywood counter. I had a talk with him this weekend about how long it was taking and that we were disappointed with the pace of things. And, we told him we were not going to sign another contract with him to do a second batch of work unless we saw a more rapid pace this week. He seemed crestfallen that we were unhappy; he really is a nice guy who aims to please but just misses the mark. (He is starting to remind me of the guys I used to teach in a prison work release program - good intentions but zero life skills.) We thought the threat of not giving him more work was a good carrot to dangle in front of him, but I don't think it is working and we certainly are not going to sign another contract....See MoreHow long should this new home build take?
Comments (15)We're in the same situation as you, but much, much worse, if it makes you feel better. We bought our property in October 2013, cleared the land and broke ground in spring 2014. Our builder was well known in the area for building ICF but had very poor planning. He quoted 8-10 months for the build. All his subs were sequential, only being scheduled when needed. It took until 2016 to get the shell, roof, interior studs, and rough HVAC in before we fired him and found a great builder. Our new builder came in late last year and will be done in a couple months. All his subs are scheduled months in advanced and he's great at sticking to his milestones. In our state, there's a huge building boom so subcontractors are at a premium right now. If they don't like a job, they can easily find another one. If you don't get them lined up early, then you'll be a side job when they can get the time. Our trim carpenter is booked two years out now. We lost our awesome tile installer to INS, and although we found another great installer, they're scheduling us when they can, causing some delays. It takes a great GC to keep his subs lined up and production high. I'm lucky to have found one....See MoreUser
