You have a really tall order, may not be possible to find all your needs/wants. 1st., 24" ovens have fallen out of favor in the U.S. we are a bigger, faster, cheaper, consuming juggernaut. The choices now are relativley low priced entry models or the imports that have quality construction, features galore and price tags to match. They don't offer them in white anymore b/o low sales. Miele had them for years here so you may find on on the secondary market. 2nd, white has also fallen out of favor in the appliance market. This makes it more difficult to find choices today. 3rd, convection ovens tend to be noisy in general even if the conv. is not running. Most of today's conv. ovens run a fan constantly to cool the electronic. Could you elaborate on what doesn't look good with your BS? Is it the color or grain of the stainless?

If you can go to 27" you'd have more choices in high line ovens. Bosch, Thermador, Viking, Dacor, JennAir, make white conv.. ovens in this size. I Think in 24" white your domestic choices will be non convection no frills units from GE, Fridgemore, ect... Not really my playground so I'm not that up on specifics.

Thanks for the input. There was another thread here on 24" so I knew I was getting into trouble (it didn't seem revivable and there weren't any comments about DeLonghi performance).

The matching issue is more of a style thing--big and clunky with a fat bar on the BS (and DeLonghi) versus sleek and low profile on the Gagg. and Miele. It's a small kitchen and the appliances will be close. Stainless is a good enough match for me and probably preferable to white unless the style is just so far off...uh...anyway.

I can probably do without convection and would settle for something a little noisy. I will have a proper sized gas oven in the BS so I just need a backup electric.

I currently have a 27" GE cheap no-frills, quite new, and it performs surprisingly well--I would get a smaller one in white with no concerns except that it is quite cheap looking with the squishy sheet of plastic touch pad and it's noisy.

On a slightly related subject, is there any reason a wall oven can't be slightly recessed and concealed (when NOT in use, of course) with a pocket door? I was considering doing that with a microwave, and it would certainly open up the wall oven market some. The cabinet will be deep enough to accommodate recessing.

And, if I'm looking at ugly ovens that don't match, the Fagor comes to mind. Anyone know anything about the little Fagor oven? It looks so nice, featurewise, but is so inexpensive, something must be wrong with it!

Sorry, Mad--no purchase yet. We put the project on hold when it was clear we weren't going to beat the baby. (That sounds bad.) Maybe try the ikeafans.com forums. Some people there were trying the Ikea badged Whirlpool 24"ers as well as the Fagor, but I've been out of it lately so I'm not sure what the most recent reviews are saying.
