Thanks Ted, I've got plenty of that these days! I'm also getting some color fading. I saw pictures of one garden where they were using shade cloth over their Dahlias, perhaps I'll consider that for next year.

As a follow up to my question, came home the other night, turned it out and it came on with a great picture. Well, at least it worked for that night.... now, can't get it to do anything except sound....no picture what so ever. When you cut it off, it does have a spot of light in the middle (little flash) and that's it.

Over the air digital signals, unlike analog, are much less tolerant of signal obstructions and multi-path distortion (the same signal bouncing off structures or terrain and arriving at the same time). Unlike analog, where obstructions caused snow, and multi-path distortion caused ghosts, DTV just blanks the signal altogether. Depending on your distance from the transmitters, a small self-contained outdoor antenna, with a built-in preamplifier, may be all you need to fix the problem. You could split the signal and feed both televisions. Sure, one television may be better than another in it's tuner design but has little to do with the size of the display.

For you U.S. folks, your tax preparers will be less busy now ... maybe a good time for that discussion, if your preparer remembers your situation. But take your return along, if your location is outside of his/her office, in case. Canadians ... most of your preparers aren't interested in any extraneous talk, these days ... they're running around like dogs chasing their tails, preparing returns: as one accountant told me, from 9 a.m. till 11 p.m. But talk to him/her later. And next year, if you take your return in early in the season, the preparer will have some time to talk, when the preparation is still fresh in his/her mind, when you come to pick it up. Good wishes for finding a couple of ways to reduce your tax load, with minimal rearrangement of your financial business. Canadians: earning dividends on Canadian stocks was taxed a lot lower than the major types of income, including interest, up till 2005 ... and the benefit enjoyed a major expansion as of 2006, so the advantage is a lot greater, now.
