after looking at the deal of the days info it appears if they do not sell out they do keep them available in their deal of the day archive site, so this may be available longer if it does not sell out, It also said the new deal begins at 8am.

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble but I wouldn't trust to buy anything in that store. The Laptop might say it is new but I have always heard that Big Lots sell reconditioned electronics and appliances, etc" Everything seems to be poor quality and is cast offs from other stores.

actually Big Lots is the one selling the stock from Circuit City which is closing out most of their stores so these are indeed new in the box brand new items just like you would find at the CC stores. I have bought many items computer related there for excellent prices and have been extremely happy with them, The cordless mouse I am currently using, the 3 usb hubs I have connected to my pcs, a memory card reader, some speakers, the kingston flash drives and several of the SD memory cards just to name a few so I personally must say I do and would buy there, with no negatives.
My husband loves to go there to see what kind of great buys he can find on tools.
when they are the ones handling the liquidation of brand name stores you really can get some great buys then. Recently they had a huge liquidation of Pier One Import items. I regularly shop there which is why I have signed up with their online buzz club to get the advance info for the sales. I have never had to return anything I purchased there. I know that it does depend on which area of the country and which stores but the ones here are all excellent and I would not hesitate to purchase there.
IF they do have reconditioned items for sale it says it clearly on the package and also on the sale flyers, they did have some Dyson vacuums a while back which were all labeled as reconditioned.

When they did the Eckerds liquidation I stocked up on my diabetes items like the lancets, alcohol pads, and got a great new electronic blood pressure monitor for dirt cheap, same one I had looked at in Eckerds in fact.

But that is just my personal shopping experiences.
If I did have the spare money I would love the HP lappy unfortunately I just got a new vehicle so I am broke LOL.

Don't put your trust in buying electric blankets at Big Lots. My sister brought a NEW one and it caught on fire and burned her sofa, she was very lucky to have put it out.
I guess you could argue that any electric blanket might do the same. But hey, it was suppose to be new.
Needless to say she sure doesn't shop there anymore.

Yes, sunshines one could argue that any electric blanket could do the same, one bought at any other store as well. I would think your sister and you should be more concerned with the Manufacturer of the blanket than the store selling it.

Not exactly, as Big Lots sell brand name electronics and appliances but my point is they take merchandise from many other stores , but the manufacturer is not held responsible for their products because anything in Big Lots store could have been purchased and repackaged and you would never know the difference whether it had been used in someone's home or not. Sorry I don't trust Big Lots.

I know there was a big recall on the sunbeam electric blankets not long ago for catching on fire. Yes it would definitely be the brand that would need to be listed for a recall or such.

Oh I am not buying a laptop, I just posted that because there were several people recently looking for laptops at good prices, that one is a full laptop for not a lot more than a netbook price, the exact same model is still listed at Circuit city for more.

I was at big lots today, I shop there almost every week, the ones here are excellent. the laptop I mentioned is only on line not in store.

There is a thread over on BBR about electric blankets right now, someone there also mentioned one catching on fire, I don't use one but we do have the sunbeam cuddle up electric throw, never had any problems with that one luckily.

I bought (with confidence) an HP dv6928us laptop at Big Lots a couple weeks ago. It was absolutely new in box when I bought it. As ravencajun mentioned, Big Lots bought these and other electronics from Circuit City, and I was aware of that when I made my purchase.

I'm 100% pleased with the laptop. It's covered by HP's warranty and tech support, although I don't expect to use either one.

Yes, Big Lots does occasionally sell refurbished/repackaged merchandise, but it's always labeled as such. That's because it's illegal to sell it as new.
