Bissell carpet cleaner repair

I have a Bissell Model 7901 carpet cleaner. Although it is about three or four years old, we have used it only about four times. My wife noticed after completing a complete room that it had not dispensed any suds. Is there some tube that clogs that can be cleaned. And how do you get at it. This unit seems to be completedly sealed,so I don't know how you would get at a part that needs to be repaired.

Any help or encourgement will be greatly appreciated.

Boy, I'm anxious to hear the answers to our question. I have a Bissell carpet cleaner (not sure of the model number) that I used exactly ONCE...next time I went to use it it wouldn't work. So frustrating! And of course by that time it was out of warranty.

Along with the above posters, I am anxious to hear any responses on this. I have a Bissell ProHeat ProTech that was used once and the next time I tried to use it the suds would not dispense also. This machine is quite a few years old now, but it only worked the one time. There's got to be a clog somewhere, but I can't find how to fix it either.

In the new Bissel Proheat II, there is a release button on the side of the machine, similar to the one in the back to release the handle. The button on the side allows you to lift the motor and entire mechanism off the wheels and handle frame. Then there are 3 screws that you remove to release the plastic floor nozzle. This allows you to clean the clear plastic floor nozzle using a thin wire and hot soapy water. I used compressed air also, but everyone may not have access to that. Also, Bissel has numerous videos on their website that may help. Look at the one to remove the belts and brushes and it is the same procedure to get to the nozzle.

Reburking, is an art, to get it to look decent and not get glue everywhere. You need an awl and you can use carpet latex, or a hot melt glue gun with an extended pencil tip. You need to get the adhesive down into the backing and then poke the latex nub on the yarn back into the primary backing. It is tedious and daunting.

The Bissell does not dispense suds, but cleaning solution. The solution is pumped out and agitated by the brush. The dirty solution is then picked up by the suction from the Bissell.

Bissell uses an indicator to let you know if the vacuum is running properly. After each use, the flow indicator must be removed and the filter cleaned.

Another area could be that the pump belt is off or broken, but this is only a slim possibility. Your Bissells have not been used that much. This is harder to get to, since you will have to remove an access panel on the same side as the flow indicator filter.
