Anyone have the new Bissell Steam & Sweep
Comments (11)I got one for christmas and I agree with Audrey. I have it and the sweeper part is a joke. It just make a mess pushes dirt into wet piles. Also because of the sweeper thing I can't get right up against the wall very easily. I still have to swiffer vac before I steam to pick up dirt unless i want a muddy mess. I should have gotten the Shark Steamer. That's what i originally wanted but i thought i would 'save a step' and get this one. :P I have a dog and 2 cats and I generally only have time to clean floors once a week maybe it isnt so bad if you use it daily. I agree it does get pretty hot I wouldn't go near the bottom while its on or for awhile after its off. I like that i can wash the pads....See MoreBissell Rental Carpet Cleaner
Comments (5)Never heard of it. The problem with the rug doctor is that it doesn't use steam but it does have good agitation and suction. I have looked long and far for a solution that delivers boiling/steam water to a carpet and vaccuum at the same time for the consumer. Needless to say I've come up empty. Stanley Steemer, Service Magic, etc either use proprietary solutions that do the above or simply steam/hot water the carpet and then suck it up with a shop vac. Let me know how the deep clean from bissell works out. I have a Bissell quick steamer, does an ok job but can't get the tough stains even with near boiling water and several passes....See MoreBest Carpet Cleaner/Steam Cleaner?
Comments (22)I have the H3060, the very first one on the page I linked to above. Don't be shocked by the price though; I bought mine brand new for about $75 less than what Hoover advertises it for. I like it a lot. It comes with two brush block assemblies, one specifically for cleaning grout. Hoover also sells a special grout solution too. It works very well, and never "reuses" water, so you're always putting down fresh water and dirt is never spread around. I guess the only gripe I might have (and even then I understand the design decision by Hoover perfectly) is that it scrubs very lightly. With brushes spinning at a very high speed there is a balancing act of pushing too hard (which could damage wood or linoleum) or pushing just hard enough to clean tough spots. Hoover erred on the side of caution, so any ground in dirt, scuff marks, etc. still require a pre-scrub by hand to loosen them up. Otherwise, no complaints. Spills, normal dirt, etc. are all picked up very well and the floor left sparkling....See MoreCarpet Cleaner/SteamVac
Comments (6)I have 2 Hoover steam vacs and I won't buy a Hoover again. The water tanks leak. I replaced one and the detergent container became unglued. One is slightly different from the other. The last one I purchased shoots water out-get this-every time you push it forward. So you have to always end with a stroke towards you. It's called self rinse or something. I never see any steam and you have to use the special steam cleaning fluid, which is pricey. The plastic part that holds the cord broke on both and the holder for the attachments rarely stays on the vacuum. They're very heavy but it does do a good job on suction. Your carpets will look good for a while. I'll be watching this thread too because I'm tempted to get another brand....See Moreclg7067
