If you have a Google account, you might check your language selection here: https://www.google.com/settings/language

If you don't have a Google account, maybe delete any cookies set by Google.

Just guessing though.

I've already checked Language on Internet Options, and although it's set to US English, I'm able to cope with that...

But when I went to the link you gave me, it was worse! I got this...

Is there anything readable in the dropdown?

Chuggerguy...the only readable word on the page is "Google"! Actually, my last screen grab above is the ENTIRE page! All blank below it.

Im not a firefox guy but you probably should look in
about:config

maybe search there, two quick ones;
keyword.URL
search

perhaps more.. but i would guess that probably/maybe 'guessing[ somewhere within the browser configs is making you non-english.

Not there, Mikie...maybe uninstall/reinstall FF?

I might try changing my firefox default search providor to say yahoo then type into the address bar... www.google.com ... take a good look at the address you arrive at in that address bar .. maybe if needed change it to your region then then google web page should offer to make google your default search providor.

www.google.com.au if I go there from usa, and make it my default search in firefox, suddenly im in a different country of searching :)

Interesting...(should have tried it long ago),I just tried the same exercise in IE and Chrome, and no problem whatsoever. Reckon a reload of FF is on the cards...

There's a "Reset Firefox" option under "Help"--->"Troubleshooting Information" that you could try first. Just an idea.

when on the google page to the far right is a small gear looking icon which is options click that,click on search settings, click on languages on the left, select your language and save changes, then on the left again click location fill in location info save.

Maybe some thing in all of this will help.

Thanks, R-C. I used the first of your 2 links to replace my Home Page, and it seems to be working so far...the language setting was fine when I checked, too.

Chuggerguy...I reset Firefox as you suggested, then spent the next 30 mins re-installing all my add-ons, only to have the home page play the same old game.

I'd like to reinstall FF, but as I only have a small amount of my measly 500Mb monthly allowance left, I'll sit on that for a while.

I know there's some firefox add ons that assist Google search you may look at some of those.
