Well, I'm sorry to have been part of the problem. Yes, Karyn, it erased my email address book and hubby's too. I feel kinda leery of opening any emails now. I have received several from Mariam recently with no subject that I deleted, and another that was suspicious, saying someone "needed some advice"- too close to someone "needing your help"!!! I let everyone know that I could by posting on FB but not everyone is on Facebook. Good luck getting back on track, whomever was hacked. My aunt was even hacked from me, and she is 77- what a PITA for her!! ~Brenda B

It creeped me out really bad...I couldnt see what they were yelling at.. I watched tv...Than got bored and went coleus shopping..lol The master gardener sale for the next county over is tommorow... One thing is as Mikie said, you can unblock mail addresses. Another thing is your aversion to allowing them into your email account. I did it a few times because my ATT/Yahoo account couldn't handle the overload of mail I receive, and my mailbox simply broke down several times and had to be rebuilt. While there is a limit, I receive so much at once and constantly that things periodically went wrong. I let them in and they fixed it each time, and I didn't lose any mail in the process. You don't have to give them your password. They can create a temporary password and then you change it back when they are finished. Another thing is a Yahoo notice that was sent to their Plus users. I don't know if this applies to you because I don't know if you are a Plus subscriber and also have no idea if you use a third party email client like Outlook or IncrediMail or if your friends use one. You can decide for yourself if this is helpful to you at all. It really sounds more like the problem is on your friend's end. One thing that helps with cutting down on how much space Outlook takes up is to empty the Deleted Items folder -- if it's trash, you need to get rid of it altogether. Also, if your aunt sends out messages and attaches anything (photos, documents, etc.), she should delete that message from her Sent Items folder (or at least delete the attachment from the sent message). She's got the "original" on her hard drive, so she doesn't need another copy of it in Outlook. Then, be sure to empty that Deleted Items folder again! Your aunt can create a new Personal Folders File (also known as an Outlook Data File) in which she can store the messages that she really, really wants to keep. These files have a .pst extension and can only be viewed from within Outlook. Once the .pst file has been created and messages have been moved into it, you can move the .pst file to a jump drive (also known as a thumb drive). You will have saved important messages while at the same time cleaning out the mailbox and reducing the size of Outlook on the hard drive. If you need to get to those messages again you can insert the jump drive again.
