photos on sites show up distorted

I have a new Toshiba laptop and am noticing that from different web sites I go into any photos are distorted and fuzzy is there an adjusted I can do

Some things to try

If you right-click an image, is there an option to "Show full quality" or
something similar? If so, you're running an accelerator program. These speed
up display of webpages at the expense of image quality. These programs are added by your ISP.

To check for an incompatible add-on, disable all add-ons from IE> Tools>
Manage add-ons. Re-enable them one at a time until the problem returns.

In Firefox click help select "Restart with Add ons disabled" See if that helps.

Do this exercise too:

Copy and paste the text between the stars below into Notepad.

GG - if it's a photo from a site you store your photos on, it should be/stay there until you take it off the site. If it's one you uploaded, it should be there permenantly. However, GW does limit the size of photos they will upload. So check that out. Denise in Omaha

albert_135: I don't see any ads. You must be doing something wrong. True.... if using a browser without some Adblock add-on enabled is "wrong". ;-) I normally don't like using these on sites like GW that provide appreciated ad-supported services, but admit to turning it on after a round of repeating and especially irritating ads here. Unfortunately for GW, now I won't notice if or when they clean things up so that I can turn it off. cumulo: GW likely still lacks the depth of advertisers and technology to tailor the ad rotations for each forum. At least it was in the gardening domain with an avocado tree rather than some little blue pill or similar pharmaceutical.

The label says it has 512 MB of memory. I'm not sure which memory this is referring to, but if it is the RAM on the motherboard, it could use an upgrade. Windows XP likes to have 2 Gigabyte (2 GB) or more. You are using a wireless router on a DSL sevice. Make sure that your wireless router is secured so that someone else within range can't horn in and ride piggyback on your connection for free. The more computers using the connection, the slower it gets for any one computer. The next potential bottle neck is the DSL service. If this is over a phone line, it may not be a large jump in speed over a standard dial-up service. A good connection does have marked improvement in speed, but a troublesome connection looses much speed advantge. Consider taking the computer to a shop or friend and try on their lines. Another problem, if over a phone line, is a noisy line. Thw phone company can test your phone line for quality. Make sure that you tell the technicam that this line will be used for internet service. If over a phone line, another bottleneck can be the phone company. It may not have installed equipemnt capable of high speed data transfer. If you have a friend who has a high speed cable connection with a wireless router, you may want to try your computer on his connection. Have the computer checked out at a computer shop to discover if it is the computer or the DSL service to your house.

thanks for your help I had called my son and he said I probably did something to settings,anyway I did a fes suggestions and don't know how but aqll is normal. Love this site
