Sticky Notes?

The one problem that I see as far as this forum goes is: When folks ask for help, they usually leave out the important information.

The information that I refer to is: Operating System, Browser used etc. etc.

We could really use a way to post sticky notes so as to cut down on the unnecessary .. "What OS, What Browser questions".

Wonder why this option isn't available?

it is just the extremely basic features this forum uses it is very very lacking. Most forums allow signatures so we could add that info to the bottom of each of our posts, not so here.

Not trying to beat a horse to death, on the homepage banner is a directive, "Before posting a question, please check the FAQ and do a search to make sure it hasn't already been answered". Under the FAQ's is "Asking for Help...Items to Include in Your Post/Request. Here's what it says:

When requesting help, please try to include some or all of the following information if possible:
(Right-click "My Computer", "Properties" to find specifications)

-The make and model of the computer, or a "no name" unit built by a local shop or yourself.
-The processor brand name and speed.
-The amount of installed RAM.
-The operating system..for example: XP (SP2?), ME, 2000, 98, 98SE etc., and whether or not it has been updated.
-The browser(s)you are using, IE (5.5, 6.0 etc.), Opera, Firefox, Netscape (4.79 etc.).
-The anti-virus program you are using, and if it is up to date.
-Any other items that will help us understand your system.

Try to indicate the area of your problem in the Subject line.
(Please don't title your post "Help!!!")

Please try not to address your post to any one person.
There are varying levels of experience on our forum and members enjoy contributing when they can...

In your post:
-Describe the problem completely, and as best you can, any significant events you noticed which occured prior to the problem. -Describe what steps (if any) you have taken to correct the problem.
-Tell us if any programs have been recently installed or uninstalled.
-Let us know if you have rebooted (restarted) your computer since the problem began.
(Note: rebooting solves a multitude of glitches and hiccups)

Please include any other information that might help us zero in on the problem.

TxKen did such a great job you can't make it much clearer.

Craftee -- isn't it great? I'm very excited about it too. When I had first heard of it I think I subconsciously assumed it was just a STRIP -- 'cause of the "seam" part of the name and just dismissed it. Paegan -- I wonder if you got a bad batch of something. I'm trying to imagine how the liner could release too soon. It didn't come off of my stuff *that* easily. I was going to say "I'll buy yours from you!" but I wonder if it's not a bad batch. The way I was taught to use it you figure out which side the liner comes off easiest and place that side down against the drawing and trace the pic onto the other side (looking through it). Then cut LARGER around that and peel the "easy" side off and stick that to the back of your fabric. Then cut through it and the fabric exactly on the line -- then you peel the back liner off and it's "sticky" and you can position and reposition it. Mine definitely wasn't coming off so easy that it ever would have just started falling off during that process.

Sorry to be late in posting, but our computer crashed! I should have known it would happen sooner or later since it was 13 yrs. old. Going from Windows XP to Windows 10 is a big adjustment, but I'm just happy that all our pictures and documents were recovered. I did receive my nice big package of seeds. I think it was Sat., but have lost track of time due to the computer problem. It was a bright spot in my day to look through all the varieties of veggies and flowers and contemplate what to plant and where to plant it. Thank you so much to Tammy for all her work, and thank you to everyone who sent seeds for my themes. Wishing everyone a fantastic gardening season this year!

Linaria, I have no idea how long you have been practicing landscape design but if you have only encountered one demanding, persnickety client, consider yourself lucky!! In the 25 years or so I have had a landscape design business, I have encountered too many to count. A few occurred early in my career when I felt like I needed to accept all opportunities to grow my business. And had not yet developed the skills to suss out who was gong to be intractable or difficult to work with. For a period of time I was associated with a local nursery as their "inhouse" designer. While operating as an independent business, I prepared landscape design plans for any nursery customer requesting this service. All the terms and fees associated with this service were worked out in conjunction with nursery management and well documented on the application form. But it was understood that anyone who requested this service would be accommodated......regardless of their personalities or how difficult they were to work with. So no flexibility to be able to pick and choose my clients. Inevitably, there were more than a few that proved very difficult. Fortunately, they were the minority and most were very successful encounters for both me, the client and the nursery. Now that I am almost fully retired, I pick and choose my jobs and clients very carefully :-) I don't need nor will I tolerate the grief that comes from working on a project or with clients that demand the impossible or will not listen to advice coming from many years of experience. It makes life so much easier!!
