Hmm, I had not read the whole MS page but basically you only need to follow the first 2 instructions. I have never had to use those other instructions myself. Remember that if you get flustered just click the Cancel button to get out of where you are. There is nothing to be afraid of when using System File Checker. You It simply goes through your computer checking all the operating system files and replaces those which are corrupt or missing. The need for the CD is so it can get the needed files to install for you. The slight downside is that it takes the computer back to when your particular CD was created which means you will be behind on security updates and possibly a service pack. No big deal there either, you simply go to the windows update site and the computer grabs whatever it needs. You are doing nothing wrong. Who knows why those files went missing. Perhaps/probably it was due to the power outage. You can of course extract and install each of those files if you wish to avoid using SFC. Follow the instructions here to do that for each file. You do not have to do them all at one time. Try one, see how it goes then do others as you feel up to the task.

As Bob said, a check in never dial a connection, and if you see Earthlink there, remove it. I found Earthlink in the registry 6 months after I used the add/remove to uninstall. The way I found these was with RegSeeker, 'Find in registry' & 'Search for' and typed in Earthlink. or if you wanted, start/run/regedit/edit/find/type>earthlink

I'm in PA, but I have an Earthlinked system and extensive experience with it over several years. The system is indeed highly efficient and I believe in the technology, even though I threatened legal action against the installer. Based on my experience, I have some specific suggestions. - Make sure you have an accurate heat load calculation done and the system is sized appropriately. This goes for any system, but is particularly important for ground source heat pumps. - Regardless of what the installer tells you, insist on at least the 1.5 system (150 feet of loops per ton) or the 2.0 system (200 feet per ton). I did a lot of thermodynamic calculations and can tell you definitively that, under most conditions, the standard, one loop per ton does not provide enough ground heat capacity. This was a big part of the problem my installer had. I insisted on a 6-loop, 4-ton system, but his drilling rig broke after 4 and he wouldn't come back to finish the job, so I was stuck. - Make sure the loops are spaced far enough apart. They should be space about 12' apart. My installer did them 6-7' apart and that's way too close. Again, ground thermodynamics are such that such close loop spacing defeats the system design. This is for a straight vertical bore. If they do the angled bores, they can get away with closer loop top spacing because the bottom of the loop will be much further apart. - Make sure they backfill the loops properly. The system won't work at all efficiently if this isn't done. My installer botched this part too. If you have to pay more to get an experienced installer, do it! Mine was supposed to be the regional expert at the time, but he had a couple kids doing much of the work. Make sure it's a real company and they've done a bunch of installs of these systems. Talk with their references. Make sure they have a real crew of trained technicians and have all the right credentials. All that said, most of this would apply to any HVAC install. But for this system, it's particularly important since there aren't many experienced installers around.

If you do not have access to the email account any longer, the buyers will have to Cancel their payment on the PayPal site. If the buyer does not cancel their payment, it will sit Unclaimed for 30 days then be refunded by PayPal. You can send the buyer an invoice from the PayPal site like this - 1. Click the Request Money tab. 2. Click the Create a Money Request subtab. 3. Enter the required information. 4. Click Continue. 5. Review the information and click Request Money. Mark the payment as an eBay item for the Payment Type. Buyers are not required to pay a different email address other than the one associated/linked with the eBay listing, and can report a seller for Non-Performance to eBay. Marking the item as an eBay purchase/item also ensures the buyer has PayPal Buyer Protection, and the buyer might be more willing to pay again & it needs to be marked properly. If the buyer wants to pay for the item from their PayPal account, the buyer can click on the Send Money > Pay Anyone subtab and fill in your correct email address. The buyer needs to mark the payment as an eBay item and a box appears asking for their eBay ID name and the auction/item number.
