Flash Player Chrome Browser

Win7 65 bit
Chrome Version 39.0.2171.65 m
Flash Player version 15.0.0.233

Within in the last couple of days, Flash Player will not work on certain pages with Chrome. It will work with Firefox. The only thing that I have changed, is update Silverlight.

Don't know exactly when Flash Player stopped working.

That's happened to me before, I'd say it's normal to expect from time to time. Also, the opposite has happened to me before.

In the past week, my Firefox install has been misbehaving. I triggered a small number update and that seems to have fixed the problem.

I'd say you're doing the right thing. When one browser doesn't work, try the other. When there's a problem, check to see if there's an update.

It's just like driving. When you think you aren't where you want to be, retrace your steps backward and try it again. Or try something else. Sometimes with software it's necessary to back up all the way to an uninstall and then reinstall. You try and see what works for you.

Jean, is this correct or a typo? Flash Player version 15.0.0.233,

Current Flash Player version is 15.0.0.223.

It looks like I got the problem resolved. I used REVO to totally remove FF and all references to it, including personal settings. I opened I.E and browsed the web and all worked well. I.E. is using the FIREFOX version of FLASH PLAYER 10______.34 which I manually installed into I.E. and it accepted. I then ran the install for FireFox 5.0 As it was loading it asked me if I wanted to import settings from I.E., I opted YES, I was then asked if I would like to make FF my default, I opted YES. Once done and without making any changes or additional additions or actions of any kind, FF imported everything I had in I.E. I went to several sites I knew Flash Player would be needed and everything worked fine. It appears as I suspected, there was a toggle somewhere in FireFox that got toggled to either TRUE or FALSE. I wish I could have determined which one, to have made this problem go away sooner. If time permits, I may play with them until I can recreate the problem. Thanks much to all of you who responded and were so willing to give up your time and effort to help me.

camp56, damccoy,ravencajun, and stargazzer, Thank you for the quick responses. Below are my answers to the questions you have asked. The browser is IE8. The version I downloaded yesterday was Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX. I uninstalled it, and downloaded and installed it again. Using START> Control Panel>Programs and Features I confirmed what I re-downloaded was Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX. The system I have is 32 bit. After downloading and installation, I still could not see any animation. I went to the sites that ravencajun suggested, went on YouTube too, saw nothing but the same dreadful messages " You don't have current Adobe Flash Player", or "cannot find Adobe Flash Player". I have not try Safe Mode yet. Will it help? How can I get to it? Thank you again for the help.

Indeed there is a way. When the image you want is onscreen simply tap the 'Print Screen' (PRN SCRN sometimes) button. Now open your photo editing program, click Edit, click Paste and you have the full screen visible. On some programs you can right click and paste the image, each has their own peculiarity. Now use your resizing or crop tool to remove the bits you do now want then save the image. If I am saving for wallpaper I always elect to save as bitmap (.bmp) because it is a higher quality image than using .jpg There are free screen capture programs out there that will catch a specific frame but I find that is as easy as anything and I do not need to remember how to work another program.

Flash Player has a new version out today. 15.0.0.239
Google Chrome comes with flash installed so they probably have a new version out today too. Latest on the blogspot "The Stable channel has been updated to 39.0.2171.85"

this does happen when multiple instances of flash players run at the same time. you can go to chrome://plugins/ to disable it and leave only 1 instance running.
