Steve I am running Acronis True Image version 7. I had done full backups of my computers too as well as created emergency start up disks. During the set up for the back up you were asked the size of the splits in the backup. During my first attempt I did that and needed 9 CDs because it did not allow me to set it for DVDs (perhaps version 10 has got more modern and allows that?) Yours, if DVD splits are acceptable in V10 would be 4.3 gigs perhaps. Afterwards I did not set it for splits but instead copied it to another hard drive as one file. When you attempted the back up did you put the last CD or DVD in first? This is an important point and must be followed. If you had the new, larger hard drive installed as well as the old one why didn't you elect to use the new one as the master drive and restore the whole image to that? Then you could have removed the operating system from the old drive and use that drive as a back up. I would think trying to restore a program to another hard drive or partition while retaining the operating system elsewhere would be beyond the scope of Acronis because as item #2 in your post suggests the image is created with all the programs, operating system and registry all on the one drive. I got into big time trouble last week and needed to restore the image. Well that was not about to happen. Rather than try explaining here you might click the link below to where I asked for help with Acronis. Please be sure to click the link provided by NPMCL in post #7 (to Wilders Security) as it contains a wealth of valuable information besides what help I received. You may indeed find the whole thread of interest, It may not address your immediate issues. I am a little wiser now - and hopefully much safer as I had relied on Acronis more than perhaps I should have done and not backed up my data at intervals. Hi, "WHICH DISK DO YOU YOU WANT TO INCLUDE IN THE BACKUP?" Not sure what you mean by HP(C)(System) At that point you should see your external USB Hard drive I would think and that would usually be called E, F, G something like that. Double click My Computer and tell us the Letter assigned to any removable storage device, this is where you External device should be listed if it's not then there's a problem with it, a simple reboot could fix it. Yes. Thank you. I was going "in" the wrong door. Going through settings I do see go back to Windows 8.1. I only realized that win 7 was listed because I was in there for another reason and happened to see win 7. I actually do like 10 and so far no problems except one.. and, of course, right now, I can't remember the exact error message, but it is something about a license missing at start up....the license is for something with adk? no, that doesn't look right.... alright, found it through my history AMD Quick Stream error after upgrade to Windows 10- the license information to use this software is not found What does this mean? Honestly It has been so long since I've had any kind of problem that this error message makes me go UGH.... why did i upgrade to 10?? Course, I don't actually know that it is a problem, since i don't even know what it is, what it does, am I missing someting? am I going to have problems because of this message? If not, why the message? Thanks to both of you and I would appreciate any additional help with this if you can

Thanks everyone. mikie, that sounds a little complex. If necessary, I'll try it, though. An update... last night after posting here, I decided to try to get those Windows updates redone and out of 'stall' mode. So, what happened was the latest version of Windows 10 updated - it was a long one, took about an hour. After that, my computer is working like I think it should as far as speed with no lags. I haven't used it enough to see if that "HD Intel Graphics Display driver has stopped working and has recovered" popup happens again. So far it hasn't. While doing the Windows 10 update, I could see it was installing new drivers for quite some time, so I'm hoping that will resolve the issue. If not, it looks like I'll have to return it because it's really annoying to continually see this popup whenever I try to navigate the internet. I'll post back to report what happens.
