In OE, click Tools, then Options. Go to the Security Tab and de-select Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. You should have your antivirus scanning emails and attachments before making this change.

The box is unchecked, and I use AVG ...but now I can't use the mouse to open a link in any of my e-mails. I checked all my settings, they seem ok......can't figure out what happened ??

Why not just try a system restore back to a time everything worked correctly? Have you installed any new software?

Funny you should say do a system restore.....have spent the last week trying to get it back (see my posting on system restore)..and just got it back today.
The only restore point I have is the one I did today...and the problem with Outlook Express is now saved for another time.... (I say with tongue in cheek.... :)

You know..system restore isn't the end all answer...in fact many times you are worse off than you were before by using it...jmho

Well...system restore has saved me grief more than once in the past. I like having it as an option.
I gave up on Outlook Express...and downloaded Incredimail...like it just as well...and it's more fun..

Did you know that system restore gives you the ability to undo a restore point so if you restore the computer and do not like the results you can undo it, choose another restore point or work the problem a different way..

hi again...have my Outlook Express fixed now..it was a corrupted Windows internet explorer....got the info from searching on line.....all solved now.
Incredimail is fun though...I may keep it too :)

be very careful with incredimail! it does it's own spamming and calls home from your pc which is the part I do not like, I would be sure to set firewall to block.
Applications like IncrediMail, call back home every four hours to download IncrediMails own form of SPAM (advertisements) via a call to 206.82.140.163:80.

Verbiage from the EULA Incredimail users must accept in order to install the program is also a source of controversy, as this EULA provision at one time specifically granted the Incredimail corporation "an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, display, perform, modify, transmit and distribute" any email sent using the program itself. This text has since been modified to restrict these rights grants more reasonably to unsolicited email sent to the Incredimail corporation, however.

Further controversy over potential security issues within the Incredimail client and service seem born out by the "Risks" clause in the current EULA, however, which includes very forbidding (and unusual in an email client, see the Thunderbird EULA for a contrasting example[13]) text about "hacking, cracking, nuking," and more:

just be aware that as long as it is on your pc it is phoning home and sending back info from your pc and your surfing, that is the definition of spyware.
