Any of the ones you mentioned are "good guys" LOL the athlon can be dual core but it would say that it is or have the x2 beside it for dual core or the x4 for quad core. Here is a link to what is called a benchmark chart for various processors it might help you get an understanding of how they are rated by performance of certain types of tests. CPU Models as you can see they are also divided as to high end, mid and low end. and yes that one is an ultra thin version. AMD Athlon Neo Processor for Ultrathin Notebooks I have no personal experience with those exact ones so can not give you that kind of info, I do have AMD athlon processors in 2 of my windows machines and in a laptop, all of which have been excellent. In my netbook I have the little Intel Atom processor which is a pretty small processor but does well with the little netbook. the athlon is in both 32 and 64bit but any spec details from the pc will tell you which it has in it, if you do not find that info on the specific site you are on try googling the model number of the pc and you can then look at it on different sites which do give better specs. Sites like newegg, tiger direct, and amazon are pretty good about having a tab on the info page with the full specs details. If it is a new pc that is being offered with windows 7 64 bit it will be 64 bit Here is a link to the AMD site with the various choices and the info about them AMD Processors for Notebook PCs your choice with the dual core would mean that it has 2 processors so it can do the processing work much faster since it has 2 that it can spread the work to. If it were a quad core it would have 4 processors and be virtually twice as fast as the dual core. So in the ones you listed your dual core choice would/should be the faster.

Thank you all for answering. owbist, I downloaded a program called HDD Health (recommended by Kim Komando) and that is what is giving me the Attribute seek error message. It was giving me the message about the Temp Critical and with the dust that was there, I'm sure I was headed for a crash. It said the temp ws 48 degrees celcius, so I feel very lucky that HDD Health caught it. I haven't had that message since I cleaned it out. I will try PC Pitstop when I finish here. I did a Balarc Advisor report and all it says about the hard drive is "160.04 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity",so I have to do a little research to find out what make it is. I do have the case up off the floor sitting on my desk top, but it still was very dusty. It has plenty of free space around it for ventilation. I really don't want to replace the whole set up, because this has every thing I need except smaller size and still feels like a "new" one to me, except I have a bulky 17" CRT monitor. Until now I have had zero problems with it. I think I bought it in 2004, so it isn't that old, at least for me, and it has everything most of the new ones have. I have 135 GB free out of the 160. How do I backup my bookmarks and address book? I use Firefox and Outlook Express. cboy,I think cloning to a new hard drive is what I want to do, so I might be back to ask how to do that. Okay, using the Firefox "troubleshooter" I went to plug ins and set and changed "shock waver" from always on to ask. All seems much better - so far. Right now the CPU Utilization is so low the processor speed, a slow 1.4 Ghz is backing down to slower speeds to save power, this is a Laptop and does what it can to extend battery life even if the A/C is attached, or so it seems. I tried to view a video on Youtube and it asked me to enable Shock Wave, I did and the video play normally and the CUP utilization was still well below the old 90% level. This my be the culprit - I wonder what IE does about Shock Wave, I'll try to find out later. Another mystery: HOW DO I BOOT IN SAFE MODE in W8? Yes I know I'm shouting but that's how I feel about Microsoft at the moment, maybe a Mac is in my future, when I'm "rich and famous".

Hi , Not sure on the he5t, But on the he4t ,We bought one about 3 years ago it has been a total let down for us. I should put hinges on the top cover cause I have had it off about 20 times, from the wiring (cpu) unit to the door lock , to re-soldering all contacts on cpu board, relays. There should of been a recall on this product,We always purchased sears products but would be really carefull in buying another kenmore washer, If it wasn't for this forum I wound have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix all the problems we had with the he4t washer. thankfully it has been working good with all the fixes we had to do. take care, Craig
