Can you give a few more details ?

You mean that now in Firefox, you don't have your old Favorites ? or in Internet Explorer you don't have them,

What do you mean by you replaced Internet Explorer ?
You mean you upgraded IE - or you still have it, but are using Firefox instead.

Also, what operating system are you on . . . .XP, Vista, Win7, Win8 ?

I'm going to guess here. You added FF to your system. IE remains as it previously was, but you have no Bookmarks (Favorites) in the new browser.

During the installation did you import the favorites from IE to FF? If not, the link below will show you how.

Just curious, who "they" are? Friends etc. When I added FF to my computer, I did NOT take anything off, just added on. Some of my programs run better on FF, some on IE, then I can just switch around without problems. Sounds like poster took off IE, and as suggested in this forum that is not a good thing to do. Just my experience.

You can have as many different browsers on your computer as you want and you can easily import and export the bookmarks/favorites between them so that all of the browsers have all the bookmarks. And you can run them at the same time just like any other program. Are you aware of that?

I have four different browsers on my computer. I prefer Firefox, but sometimes I'll also open up, say, Chrome or Opera if a particular web site isn't working correctly.

I appreciate all of the answers. I'm afraid that I am not particularly savvy computerwise and simply learn what I have to to accomplish the necessary things. I am going to sit down and try to get my favorites on Firefox. Thanks to all for the help. Barb

This is still a little unclear. You should still have Internet Explorer installed on your computer as I don't know of a way to completely uninstall it. If you try an uninstall, it typically just reverts to the previous version. If you install a new browser, it won't automatically pull your favorites into it: you have to export (transfer) a copy of them to the new browser. So your favorites should still exist and will appear in your Firefox browser when you copy them over from Internet Explorer.

So, can you open up Internet Explorer again on your computer or not?

Kudzu9 I thought that Internet Explorer was no longer on here, but found that it still was and that my favorites were still on there but were lost to Firefox and had to be recopied. I copied all the stuff that damccoy referred to and that will be the thing that I am trying to do this with. The person who put this on was a programmer that no longer lives here (if that answers the question). As I said, this is not my expertise (which is why I am asking your help), but believe me from experience, if it is possible to mess thiat up, I unintentionally accomplish that. Thanks again, all.. Glad you still have the Favorites. damccoy has given you the correct method to do this easily...and it takes about 10 seconds to accomplish. Don't be intimidated; it's really a breeze and there's nothing to mess up. Let us know when you succeed or if you need more help.
