Okay, I'll chime in here and mention Caldera . . . we have the 36'' and LOVE it. Yes, the highest BTU burner is in the middle, but I can put all 5 of my biggest pots/pans (not that they are all that huge, but stockpots, dutch ovens, and large skillets) at the same time on the cooktop and still move around. I was worried about the fit of pots/pans as there is no place around here (Central VA) to see one - it is amazing. If you live around here, you are welcome to come over and try your pots and pans on my cooktop! So, no GE Profile reviews. Perhaps muddling the waters a bit, but there you go. Good luck! I have the same burner arrangement in a GE profile slide in. It's terrible. The burner ring on the high powered burners is so large, it burns food on the SIDES of the pan (not the bottom) because the flame will climb the outside of all but a huge 14" pan. With a huge pan, the center will be cool in comparison to the outer edges because it receives no flame at all. You could order a pizza and have it delivered by the time it heated a pot of water to boiling. The KA burner design looks very similar. If you want sealed burners, look at ones where the higher powered burners (above 11k) are done with double or triple flame rings. Thank you for the recent replies. I don't think anything can be done about the letters. The complaints that I have read said that they were not getting any help from GE. I think I will go with the Monogram in hopes that the lettering may hold up better. Either way, I will be careful around the letters when cleaning. Is the SS surface like the refrigerator and dishwasher surfaces, in that you use the paste or cloths to clean it? rockmanor - Interesting that you want to go back to white. WE have had black (dust shows too much), white (liked the white, but heard it can yellow), and now the stainless. I would say that the stainless looks the best when clean, but it's a pain to keep that way! The white was the easiest. We had an interior kitchen with white cabinets, and I think not having direct sunlight helped keep the appliances and cabinets from yellowing. See photo. All appliances were KENMORE (third time using Kenmore without any problems!) On a side note: I don't think those ORB appliances took off very well. I would think they would really be hard to keep looking good.

Your burners just need an adjustment - you might be able to do it yourself but if it's brand new, you have them service it for you.
