Can't locate virus causing search redirect

I use IE8 and in the past 24 hrs. have run multiple antivirus/spyware tools (Malwarebytes, Avast, AVG, etc.) None have found the source of the problem. Each time I do a google search and click on what appears to be a good link, I'm redirected to a bad site (or, if luckier, to just another search page.) This problem just started yesterday, and I think may have something to do with a link to google images from another GW forum based on some info I ran across while looking for a fix. I've read through several antivirus programs' forums and tried their suggestions, but still no luck.

Has anyone been successful in removing the source of the redirect? Thanks.

Follow the directions in the link. You're going to need help with this problem, there is a little more involved then running the scans you listed.

If you have a router, you might try un plugging in for a bit min or so and plug it back in, no go, head to the forum link.

Hi zep516, How did you know beanwabr was infected with Palladium Pro? I could not find out any info about this from beanwabr. You said my link leaded to a possible infected web site? I can tell you that this site (teesupport.com) is safe. I know this because this site keeps posting blogs (http://blog.teesupport.com/) for virus removal and legit applications uninstall instructions each day. Teesupport starts its blogs for over one year and some of blogs are even listed on the top search on Google. I do not think Google will allow sites that will damage your computer to exist for such a long time. I have also tested this site using online anti-virus scanners from various security vendors and all test show that it is a safe site. What is more, as far as I know, TeeSupport is an online company to provide remote tech support and they receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart. Will a virus maker dare to receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart? Talking about spam..There is a very interesting thing. If a site does not force you to buy anything in an illegal way like rogue software and it can provide you some useful info, then that is not a bad site. By the way, I admit that sometimes I will buy things from the internet because of those sites' promotion but I don't think it is bad because they provide useful things to me and I think they deserve my payment for hard work of making such useful things. you need to get assistance for this one at a support forum this is one that is very very hard to get fully rid of with out help running some special scans. Go to this forum and register then post your thread in the area I am linking you to. Analysis and Malware Removal they will help you get it fully removed. If you need help registering there just let me know I am over there also.

When I started using Houzz I was amazed at how accurate the results of my searches were (in addition to the size of the photos database). It was a great resource. More recently when I've prepared to undertake projects, I've noticed that I just don't get the same, accurate results. My searches are riddled with results that just aren't pertinent. I think this is due to the incorporation of advertisers from my city and surrounding areas (contractors, builders, and others). There are enough ads (or results that are somehow influenced by someone who has something to sell) now to really hinder the flow of design ideas. I guess many internet sites end up using advertisers but it morphs the user experience. It's really made using Houzz less fruitful.

My aunt and sister recently had this happen, on different computers at different times via different web sites being viewed. Aunt said she was "on Google" and couldn't "get out of it" so she closed the laptop and called me ... but she's not very technical so no way to know what she was actually viewing. I ran Avast and Malwarebytes scans, her laptop was clean. No way she could understand how to open Task Manager and kill the browser if necessary so I told her if anything like that happens again that she "can't get out of" she should press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts off. Sister ran her own scans and I didn't hear anything further so presumably it also came up clean.

Please do not follow any directions on forums if they were not specific for you and your situation, doing so can cause serious problems. Go to the forum zep linked to and start a post of your own and only follow directions given to you specifically. the redirect infections are hard to be rid of and you will need the assistance from that forum.

Thanks for your replies. As it happens, dh tried one more antivirus scan and was able to delete the source of the trouble. I've bookmarked landzdown for future reference and appreciate the advice provided by the generous folks there (& here.)

If your still here, which succesful scan did he use? Did the scan identify the pest?

I ask as this issue may come up again, and the remedy would sure help.

I agree and it could return after a reboot. Usually caused or can be caused by a DNS Trojan, Host file infection. As I said those can be difficult to remove. Surprised to here you were successful.
