I believe what happened is that you opened the archive(.rar) and simply got a peek inside the archive. Double-clicking the pic caused it to be extracted to a "temp" directory where it was subsequently opened by your image viewer. It wasn't really hidden, just not "really" extracted. To extract the contents of the entire archive, you can right-click the unopened archive and select "Extract here". Or if you just need a file or two out of the archive, you can open the archive, select the desired file, and extract it. Myself, I would do that by dragging the file out onto my desktop. I'm going by memory, which may not be accurate. Also, I'm thinking of how I would do it with WinRAR. If you're using 7-zip or something built into Win8, then I don't really know. I suspect it would work similarly?

This is what I would use...but that's just me. Here is a link that might be useful: 7 zip

I'm not an expert (I don't work in internet security), but for online banking. I think it's more a question of your browser than which version a Win user uses. I could be wrong. You should have a number of defenses working for you: 1) The data communicated between you and your bank is encrypted (on your side) by your browser. Which browser you use seems to matter, they're not all equally secure. Further, the communication follows certain protocols designed to provide a measure of security. It's not absolutely secure (there are still means and avenues of attack), but read on. 2)Your internet connection matters. Best not to do financial transactions on a public computer or an unencrypted public wifi. 3) As always, a current and effective anti-virus program helps prevent intrusions and malware. If all else fails, to my knowledge banks absorb customer losses from fraudulent acts. This is nothing new, people lose checkbooks and some crooks try to fake checks all the time. I'm not saying there are no chances you'd be inconvenienced, but I think anyone's risk of loss is close to nil. I'm an anti-paranoid. There's risk in all daily activities, I refuse to worry or overly concern myself with them. Most risks of using the internet are easily avoided with simple tools and common sense. Beyond that, I never give them a second thought.

Does the tute mention if you write it to dvd you can have a file 4gb but if you write it to cd in needs to be 650 mb. You size large zips to fit the media or to make it a comfortable sized file to upload or download. Plus sometimes email rules come into effect. I split a windows 8.1.1 DVD up into 8 chunks to upload a copy. Server upload size rules. If you're working with a large already zipped file.. you should unpack it before zipping it into chunks. Otherwise you will create some confusion and double work for whomever opens it. This post was edited by mikie on Wed, Aug 6, 14 at 21:53
