strange file..roamingcvcs file?

Hi..new to this side of the garden web but I hope you can help me out. I will warn you though that I am really not very good with computers.

Here's my problem;

We have Vista operating system and run One Care for anti virus and also run Spybot search and destroy for spyware. I have run both of these and nothiing has shown up. Recently I have been getting messages that one care firewall has blocked the following program from accessing the internet it is roamingcvcs.exe Today I discovered that this file is on my "start up" over and over again and each time it adds the word roaming and they are all checked to be turned "on" with start up.

Can anyone tell me what this is, should it be on or off?

Not knowing anything about computers I have not done anything with it....a number of years ago I clicked the wrong thing and really fried our entire system and had to get this one which is now two years old.

As I said I really am pretty lame when it comes to these things so please keep that in mind when explaining what I should do....thanks in advance for any help offered.

Do you know the path to the file like c:\ mydocuments\donna\roamingcvcs.exe----. The path would look something like that.

You can also up-load the file to the link below and get a report to see if it's malware related.

Simply go the the site browse for the file on the pc and double click it Virus Total will analyze it and create a report. provide a link to the report please.

Same thing happened to me a while back. It's a computer hacker from China. He somehow got into my (previous) Hotmail account and started sending everyone on my email list, emails that sounded like they were from me! He made it sound like I was suggesting they try out his wonderful site in China to buy things. Hotmail and MSN were extremely worthless in helping me get rid of it. Frankly, it seemed to me that they could care less, despite numerous emails to them. I finally closed all my accounts with them and moved to Comcast, which has much better security. But, the bottom line is that they stole my email list and continue to send emails to my family & friends every so often. Talk about creepy! I feel for you and hope you can stop it. Let me know if you do, but definitely make sure your computerfiles haven't been compromised any more! Lynn

yes it is normally a hidden file, it could be that for some reason in the past you went into your file options and changed the setting to show hidden files, that is something that often you have to do in some steps of cleaning an infection for example, but then usually the norm is to go back and reset that to how it was by default, I am just speculating but that could be how it happened that you now are seeing some of your "hidden" files. You should be all back to how it was now in regards to that particular file. This is the microsoft link on how to show hidden files and folders you can follow the path and see how your's is set. Show Hidden Program or System Files default is leaving them hidden.

Tom999, I think you suggest exactly what I am interested in. I need heavy Pandaflex-style rails that I can cut to length and mount in my wooden lateral file drawers in my study. The ones that were installed by my cabinet maker are too flimsy and wobble distressingly every time I move the drawer, now that they're full of stuff. I want something beefy. The span is 26 inches. I've searched Rocker and Baer supply web sites per your suggestions without success, probably because I don't know the right buzz words to use. Can you help?
