What your system's operating pressure is (hose bib pressure gauge) and second find out what the drip lines safe operating pressure range(google). Match the two with an in-line pressure regulator. I have a sister brand unit and have done both things. Yes, it was your lid causing the EE's. It was enough like a pot to activate the sensors but they knew it wasn't a proper pot and wanted you not to try to cook in it. Try turning it upside down, or put a potholder under it, or put it on the counter, instead. I've had the same stuck problem with my steel stockpot--many times. :) Agreed about the moisture and the suction. You need to be brave. It's just suction and not stuck like with glue. Sometimes adding a little more moisture by dribbling around it with a paper towel (sponge can be too much) works. In general, however, I just grab the handles tightly, and give it a slow, but very firm, twist. That seems to loosen it much more easily than trying to push it straight or lift it. You can also wait for it to cool down, but you probably don't want to. :) (edit--Oh! You did that.) Drying the bottom of your pot and the surface of the stove (in case you've just wiped it) helps prevent the stuckness, but when you're making soup, a little moisture running down the sides is enough to make it happen. Try the twist. It works, even when the pot is full and very heavy. BTW, you'll also probably get beeping and EE's when you rest your hand on the controls, put a damp sponge down on them, spill on them, etc. This is the unit's way of saying, "WHAT THE HAY?? Well, stuff happens. I have Fish peppers I ordered from a very reputable seed supplier. Last year the seed I planted created a small, highly variegated plant with a small crop of beautiful hot variegated peppers that took a long time to turn red. This year another seed from the same packet produced a huge, incredibly productive plant that always has a ton of peppers on it, but they have no heat at all except in the seeds, and they ripen all the way right away, and the plant has almost no variegation in the leaves, and maybe one pepper in ten shows any striping.

I have Halo 5" H5ICAT recessed cans in my house. New construction about 5 years ago. One of the can's has always been a problem. It is mounted in the ceiling with the attic on the other side. The first problem is that only this one can would shut off and eventually cycle back on, presumably due to overheating. I'm using 65w lamps everythere. I don't know what trim I have, but all the lights are the same. Even though these are IC rated cans, I went into the attic to cut away some of the insulation. My house is spray foamed, but the ceiling only has foam around the perimeter and above the cans. The foam people wrapped each can in fiberglass insulation and then sprayed a skim coat of foam all over it to provide an air dam into the room. The entire thing was then covered with sprayed in paper insulation. So let's say it was really well insulated! I cut off the top of the foam insulation and removed some of the fiberglass, covering it back up just enough so that heat could escape. That seemed to fix the problem, no more cycling off. But here's the new problem -- the lamps are burning out prematurely. The last 65w lamp or bulb I put in blew out as soon as I turned on the switch. I checked the voltage at the can, which was 106.5v, the same as another one in good working order. What could be causing the lamp to blow like that? Thanks for any clues.
