Might look around at Avery, they seem to give away software/templates, even print fromt the web... trying to get you to buy and use their paper products. Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.avery.com/us/software/jcc/index.html

What software are you using? I use PE-Design 3 and Generations. Both of these support the True Type Fonts that come on your computer and are totally scaleable to different sizes. As far as using a larger hoop, that would depend on how much text you are embroidering. But again, using a larger hoop *may* involve some tweaking with the design in your digitizing software. You really need to talk with the Brother dealer...there are so many choices and you need to make sure you get the right one. As far as creating your own designs (digitizing) the Brother software - PE Design - is pretty expensive; also, you can't just import a picture from Photoshop and stitch it out on fabric. It's much more complex than that to get good results, and photo type designs are extremely dense and stiff when stitched out. There are other digitizing programs that are not as expensive as PE Design - Embird is one. I'd recommend an Internet search for home embroidery software and do some research on your own, but you really do need to talk to the Brother dealer so you get the right box, as they aren't cheap either! Thanks Sally. That's what we've been doing up to this point and I didn't see any need to change even with a store front, and we'll only be leasing shelf space in another store for now. I told dh I didn't think we needed to do any more than a credit card reader like paypal, but he thinks it would be too inconvenient for the store owner who will be handling the transactions. I doubt we will even have 5 store sales a week for a while.
