Shower pan transition; furred cement brd to drywall

I've installed an acrylic corner shower base (Maxx) in the basement bathroom we're building and I want to tile the corner of the room that forms the shower area with subway (field) tile.

I like the idea of furring out the studs above the pan so the cement board will over-lap the flange of the shower pan. However this means the cement board (to be tiled over later) will be approx. 1/8" proud of the adjacent drywall that forms the rest of the bathroom wall due to the furring strips. How do I transition cleanly between the cement-board and the drywall with the offset? Do I use bullnosed tile? Will it wrap around the offset or would the mortar/grout have to be extra thick to fill the gap? Do I have to fur out both complete walls (drywall & cement-board)?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
