Boskoop was the #1 cooking apple when I was growing up in Switzerland, I still have a soft spot for this cultivar, because these were magnificent trees, picking in my teens on a nice sunny fall day high up on a ladder, I never forget! A good size tree could yield about 2 tons. Also, picking these lovely, red blush, kind of rough skin, which made it better for picking, not slipping out of your hands. We had some stored in the root cellar, in about May, the skin would have shrivelled up but the flesh was still good. OH...another thing I got to tell you... When my mom was baking pies in the wood oven, [farm house] we kids took one of the Boskoop and wrapped the whole apple with dough and backed it along with pies......you get it!...Awesome! I remember trees like this...click Konrad Here is a link that might be useful:

I like the hybridizing forum too. The subject is way over my head but I like to lurke and read the threads. I have some daylily roots I got from another member and when they sprout and flower I'm going to try to cross them. I've been trying to cross my two Amaryllis that bloomed around the same time and it looks like I finally have seed pods forming. Although I won't know the results for a couple of years.

Julia, what is your daylily in the photo. Trying to delete with a mac. Well that didn't work Try one more time That works. I used the houze photo button to load pic from my computer. The photo now shows before posting (did not before) theirs a little x in corner. Click x picture goes away before posting. Use can use the right side of houzz photo to upload from computer without uploading photos to houzz.

Maybe this is the place to ask this question, I don't know. I'm not sure if this is Houzz related, or my phone or internet connection. I am terrible with this sort of thing. Here's what's been happening. It has been going on about as long as this double post thing on Houzz. When I use my iPhone to post anything to Houzz, I have to sign into my account again, if I have not used Garden Web via my iPhone in the past hour or so. I do not have this issue with my laptop and I do chose the option to remain signed in. I didn't used to have to sign in on my phone every time I went to post here. It happened once or twice before, but now I have to enter my email and password every time I've been off the forum for an hour or longer. Its a bit annoying, and sometimes discourages me from taking and posting a quick picture while in the midst of something. Does anyone know if this is likely a Houzz thing or my issue over here? Thanks, Lisa
